Lovely!
It's true. He is my absolute fav.

He's still here. Put up loads of posters last night round our local streets, got one call..from my slightly crazy neighbour over the road - who wondered who it was, and mentioned that she'd seen him around as well and that if I didn't find the owner she'd have him..I said she'd have to get in the queue :-)
He's now sleeping in the house and we put him out during the day. Vets/scanning scheduled for Sat afternoon.

What breed is Monty Cat? British Blue?
-
• #2231
Russian?

No Kitteh last night, am hoping he's safely in the arms of his relieved owner.
Next project: Convince MOC we actually should get a cat - I think having wolfie around has softened him. -

I think Monty Cat has yellow eyes from other exrtaordinarily cute pictures somewhere up the thread so cannot be Russian Blue?
Plots to aquire Monty Cat for her own. Mwa ha ha ha.
Then wonders about costs of pet insurance for a pure breed. :|
Claire, rebuild the pond, get a Turkish Van (cat).

^^^Hope that wolfie is safe and sound. cool that the little visit may have broken the ice to get a cat
^ the couple with the afgan hound made me smile as there is a pic of my mum from the late 60's looking very similar with Zorba her afgan hound spooky!

afgan hounds were very popular in the early 70s my dad gifted one to my mom her name was Dita (also my grandmothers name) she was bought from a reputable breeder who wanted one litter from her, so when she was old enough she went back to the breeder, the pregnancy got complicated and she never came back. The breeder felt so bad that my mom still has "dog credit" if she ever wanted one again... I would LOVE to have one but she never got over the heartache.

What-a-mess ... about an Afghan pup, was one of my favourite series of books when I was young. Beautiful dogs, despite being a bit dim.

Indeed he is, totally barking mad as well. Plays fetch like a dog.

Ha, I had all those books! loved em! But I also wanted a pet Raven because of this

This is Milly, who ate a lot of cake making stuff in the night, including a packet of chocolate icing mix. This morning on our walk she was hyper, wouldn't settle down, running around like a mad thing.
When we got home she started puking torrents.
On the plus side the house smells of chocolate.
She is having a little lie down now.

aren't dogs not meant to eat chocolate?
-
• #2242
they are not supposed to - but I doubt that the cake mix actually has much chocolate in it - its proper dark chocolate that is especially dangerous as due to high theobromine content: [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theobromine_poisoning[/ame]

yep, very bad for them, fortunately there is none left in her system now, it is all over the carpet and the garden, she will be OK.
She is a dreadful food thief, and opened a box that you would have thought was secure. -

Our two greyhounds are food thieves too - and being tall are quite capable of stealing from the back of the kitchen work surface....

i quite like cats - but i'm allergic to them and all the neighbors' cats crap in my garden - so when i see one stalking about outside looking for a nice spot to take a shit in my flowerbeds i go up to the window quietly and glare at it until its 6th sense tells it something is wrong and it turns to me with a slight look of panic - the best is when they are already settling down for a poo. they always look as if they know i don't wish them well - i would never harm them of course but i enjoy seeing them realise with shame that i have more successfully stalked them than they have crept around in my garden for an illicit turd.
i consider myself to be kind to animals but cats somehow feel like worthy and equal foes. does that make me mean? apologies for thread hijack

Apart from stealing food Milly's other habit is chasing cats, but seriously, I mean with a real passion. If we are on a walk and she sees one she goes absolutely ballistic, and I had to put a bolt through her collar to make sure it doesn't come undone. If she got away it would be a disaster. We don't get any cats in our garden now, which to my mind is a result. I don't dislike them, but having someones pet crap in my garden I find quite irritating

dara, my greyhound was a massive food theif. Took my piping hot pizza once.. and a loaf of bread. Like you say, Greys tend to be big. Dara was HUGE (which no doubt helped him win many races)
In comparison, duckie won't touch human food... unless its fish and its offered.
+1 for cats. -

Citrus tends to deter cats. Not cruel and saves your eyes.
