Cool ejay I'm not disputing that less experienced watch brands might make decent watches. However, in terms of experience in the market of making watches and the knowledge that experience brings plus of course the kudos is incomparable between say Victorinox and Omega.
Moreover, this will never change because in 100 years 'if' Victorinox are still making watches they will have been in the game for over 100 years less than Omega (if they are still making watches).
Sorry but Victorinox are one of those brands that are diversifying and in doing so they come across as disingenuous in the same way that I would be happy to buy a knife from Victorinox I would never buy a spoon from Omega.
I disagree personally. They are into making hardy outdoor gadgets. The watch compliments the pocket knife or compass. It's not meant to be an jlc or omega. But 20 years in a specialist area of watch making is 20 years. And as time goes by in 100 it could be the next breitling.

I know what you are saying VanUden , and would I be wearing that Divemaster if I hadn't been given it by the manufacturer ? Probably not . But I will wear out on bike or swimming ' cos like I said still aint bad at what it does for the money .
Whats your view on Montblanc watches ? -

Sorry to interject.
Last offer before going on ebay. I have an unwanted Steinhart Ocean 1 Vintage Red for sale that has never been removed from its packaging. I want to sell rather than return to avoid shipping costs.
Im asking for what I paid...£298. Pm if interested.

Whats your view on Montblanc watches ?I'm being picky to be fair. If I'd be given it I'd happily wear it but I wouldn't buy one.
Montblanc I'd say are generally overpriced and often on the gaudy side. However, don't listen to me - today I'm sporting my G-Shock (albeit full stealth).

Maurice Lecroix - and no one likes this?!

Not sure about the buttons. Otherwise very tidy. Ignore the ML hate CB.

Looks good.
Probably better with a strap.

Nato?

Any views on Invicta watches? Apparently they use Seiko movements, and are very affordable... thinking about a Submariner homage.

^^ It's just a bit gaudy but then each to their own. I genuinely do believe that 9 times out of 10 less is more. Sorry to harp on about Omega but if you wanted something genuinely classy and with the same functionality of the ML but for a lot less dorra you'd go for one of these:

The Nato & Kevlar look good and are probably fit for purpose since this is a diving watch.
I was thinking croc, but can't find a good pic.
Arooooogah, what diving watches do most divers wear?
-
• #8221
I think busy is a better word rather than gaudy. I would prefer a non chrono version which would hopefully fulfil that crit...
-

I find it a little over the top so gaudy fits my personal view better, I'd see the Omega as busy but also classy.

Divers wear dive computers these days; Suunto and the like with depth gagues, safety stop timers, etc. I have used my diving watches diving, but only as a backup to my computer.

And actually I prefer the bracelet to the straps for the ML. The strange button is growing on me. What's the RRP on that CB?
The ML moonphases are classics and I would love one.

On that point though, I believe what watch snob says: silly idea to wear a watch because youre a diver to show off youre a diver.
looks nice but too big and thick for that design
