The work requirement is so it looks smart with a suit.
THe extreme would be the G-Shock. I wouldnt feel comfortable with it when in a suit.
My favourite work watch is the ML. Its not a name that most people would recognise though. Its not about the brand. I know what it is, and i like it and its smart so it fits in with the attire. But sadly its a 38mm watch that i think is too dainty for daily abuse i would throw at it.
The Omega was going to take some abuse. But i did not want to fit the bill that was described about it. I dont like carrying that sort of stigma. I also wanted something with a bit of resell value, but after the experience Ive just had, i am sceptical. I had it less than a week and lost £111. Fucking horrible experience. (but i can say i owned one. and proudly say it was for a week - sort of like owning an Alfa.)

Sorry I am a bit opinionated about watches !
-

that's alright, posting a Tag in here is pretty much trolling anyway.

I've just been given this by a supplier . Not too shabby as a freebie .

Nice! What is it?

Cheers, I'd missed the 44mm somehow. The only IWC ones I could spot were fairly large. Basically I like the pilot watch style face but not the size they generally are.

Ocean1 is amazing watch.
But one the manufacturer can't supply ATM because of ETA's restrictive practice. If they supply less than ten per cent of their order for movements, Steinhart are up the creek until they do the decent thing and fit seiko innards to their watches. (The prolonged patience of customers who have Steinharts on order is, finally, causing the glacial movement of WUS threads to speed up.) If ETA want to take the ball away, good luck and good bye. I won't be looking for another watch with one of their movements again.

I read that ETA just shipped Steinhart 40 movements from their order of 400 without explanation and with a significant delay. They seem to be keeping Tudor and others supplied though. I dont know the facts but it sounds pretty shitty to me.
Id go with an alternative movement asap if I were Gunter Steinhart. Patience will run out very soon. I guess the problem is that he might have a load of cases that take eta movements premade...

So I got the money back, 'in limbo with ebay' and asked to rate seller and eBay customer service. Rated the eBay seller and he just came back saying he's escalating it to eBay.
reported me to eBay for the negative feedback left and breach of protocol. He's cancelling the refund and escalating the case tomorrow. The item was exactly as described and I have document proof / valuation from Goldsmiths

Maybe I've missed something but why did you leave him negative feedback? Any 'unseen sale' should always have a brief cooling off period as long as any goods are returned within that timeframe, in identical condition to how they arrived / were sold, and return postage is covered by the buyer.

I gave him negative feedback because of his attitude. He has not been nice and where asked about his dealings I said as much. If I had come out of this not out of pocket, I would have been happy but if I've taken a blow I feel he needs to know. Bad seller I would not recommend.

Had one one preorder and have asked to cancel order but will keep hold of it if somebody wanted to pay me face value.
