Oh go on then.
Its not exactly the worst after-market crystal that I've seen but whoever fitted it didn't even bother to fit it exactly in line with the window. Its quite hard to line up a photo to show exactly how it looks from straight on.
The strap is kosher but has obviously been polished a fair few times in its life.
Can't wait to have it on my wrist...should have end pieces fitted early next week.

That's lovely. Needs a leather strap for under the radar subtlety.

I love those old Air-King watches.
searches for a mid-seventies one

Thanks guys.
I've just had an Air King off with my Dad and it turns out that we have exactly the same model within a couple of years of each other.
Looking forward to having it on my wrist.
Sadly, no chance of a subtle enough 31trum special for this one.

Oh and thanks for putting up with my confused stream of thought and random questions.

I find myself a bit meh about those branded chrono's. But it is a good way of making money as you say from people who think that they are buying a watch made by Junghans.
Well, it's not just that, I've sold quite a lot in e-Bay myself. What interests the collectors most is the history and originial condition (It's always the same questions as with bikes, "to respray or not to respray"). Condition and paperwork add on value of course. Almost nobody is buying something worth over 1000,- Euro if he/she doesn't know what is buying and espescially not online.

Having browsed several sites for modern Seamasters, pricing seem to vary quite dramatically.
What would you think a good price is for a Seamaster 2264.50? With box and papers.
Price will always variate on condition and papers. I'd suggest you not to be hasty, establish a real price after watchig on e-Bay some time and bid only on sales by thrustworthy sellers. I'd say anwhere between 1000 E (bargain) - 1300 E, depending where you live and given situation ofvcourse.

When I was going to buy one about eight years ago, I was looking at around £600 for a new automatic Seamaster from Makro.
THIS!! I came close to buying the James Bond special edition maybe 8 yrs back and that about £800 mark.

or if it must be auto

I mean,** if I am happy to spend thousands on a bike/wheelset that I only use every now and again** why not treat myself to a watch that will last a lifetime and be use every day?
Maybe I'll sell a bike or two ;)

As a proud SKX owner, its a great watch for the money and if you get bored with it the modding posibilites are virtually endless.

Here's my modded Seiko diver.
It's the blue dial version, but it's hard to see the colour due to the coating on the crystal. -

Very nice, but:
- Colourway makes it look like a wannabe Bell & Ross:
- Black strap would ruin it and leave the beige/tan and the numbers looking nasty

I was thinking of seeing what it looks like with a more subtle tan strap - i.e. no fake croc skin. So even more like that ^ Bell & Ross.
Or a black leather strap with tan stitching

i like the fact it looks like a B&R

Not sure on dates, but you might find that its the Bell & Ross that looks like the Seiko. Just sayin'
