Need to get ~8 years out of this for it to beat the F91-W on cost per day basis. Got a bit tired of throwing Casios away when the plastic disintegrates

And power reserves
Don't forget that they're the leader of power reserves -
• #65404
I love GS power reserves, but I know a lot of people hate them.

So I know someone with some spare cash and wants to invest some in watches. £50k+. What would be on your shopping list?
Belated non-pisstakey response to this because Chris Hall has just written a really nice piece that sums up the current fad for "watches as investment" - worth a read:

about the cultural sensitivity of that gif
Closest I could find without having a charging battery
But now removed. Makes less sense but
(also no offense meant. Only realised now what you were talking about)

very adequate

I looked at a Timex Expedition as well. Both seem to be robust and functional. The Pinnacle Arkose equivalent

Good choice, I love that watch :)

Wasn't trying to call you out. This is an interesting read:

Interesting searching it. Did not know of it nor that it was a problem. Anyway, I've been schooled.
Back to Watches!

Wasn't always that though. Even only two/two and a half years ago when these came out, online marketplaces couldn't shift these for love for nor money and that was at 6k USD. The dealer charging 15k for that reference on C24 is on crack.

Also they’re still available, no? They weren’t limited.
-
• #65414
I'm referring to the SBGH267. Sorry if that was unclear. Limited to 1500 apparently.

One of the worst watches I've ever seen in my life. The Seiko mod community has literally zero taste.
-
• #65418
Ah soz, thought you meant the Shunbun / spring / cherry blossom.
-
• #65419
still made me smile.. its not just about taste.. make 'em as gash as they want.. its the audacity i admire
the Grand Seiko SBGH267 has my vote..

Could be worse. Could be a Bamford.
Also at least it’s not a Fifty Fathoms / Seamaster / Sub / Batman homage
-
• #65421
Speaking of cherry blossom, I've decided that I will not buy a nice watch until GS release other non limited variants of the SBGW289.
-
• #65422
Yeah, fair and fair. There's not a single watch on Bamford's website that is even remotely nice.

Got to be coming. I’ve seen members of the UK GS9 club asking for exactly that (me included) and the response from the brand was “great idea” and that the 36.5mm 44GS case has “gone down very well”.

This one isn't too bad

*sorry, was referring to their 'custom' watches only.
Photos on this page reminded fme that GS are the leaders in date windows and date font. By some distance.
