1948 is definitely a physically larger watch:

You know these watches aren’t actually meant to be used more than 10 meters from a keyboard, right?

Didn’t wear a watch Friday or Saturday as I was messing around in the garage and painting.
Got this on today though... don’t wear it often enough.

Clearly you need a G-Shock

stunning. Nice colour matching of shoes / strap. That's the way it should be done!

Have lurked on this thread for some time having long promised myself an automatic watch. Anyway i took the plunge today and ordered a Smiths PRS 40. It's a bit quirky looking but it will have to earn its corn as i have long abandonded garmins etc on my rides out and i need to know what time to go home.
I'll post a picky and share my joy when it arrives.

Glad someone appreciated the colour match. Strap was bought specifically for these shoes a couple of years ago.

I'm wearing mine today, the quartz version. Didn't realise they had released an automatic.

Cheers. I'm looking forward to enlightenment. I have to say i've seen some beautiful watches on the forum. Possibly a daft question which may have been asked before but is there a 'Holy grail' watch that the aficionados are in search of?

That's nice. I love the functionality of it,very fixed gear IMO.
Yes the auto was released earlier this year. It was a bit confusing because I found it on the time factors website then read a review which was about the quartz version. A read of the forum cleared up the confusion.
The Precista watches look great as well...not sure I could sneak another past the gatekeeper though. -

Everyone has their own grail... depends what you’re into.

If I was in any doubt as to whether my wrist could support the Pelagos, this photo will serve to remind me it can’t. Sulks back to 35mm dress watches.

Looks great on your wrist. I hope you're as happy with it as I am with the speedy, it's barely been off my wrist.

Ha - that looks ridiculous.
Maybe consider the Christopher Ward trident in 38mm? Nice, less pricey, and likely to fit your wrist...

Most on here will agree that the ultimate ‘grail’ watch is a Stendardo Immersion.

So good to hear that! :)
Yeah, I'm bonding with the Heuer, though it's been wet outside which makes me anxious :p

That’s probably the least awful CW I’ve seen, but then it’s a low bar. And it’s trying a bit hard to be an Omega.
Deserved a good death
