I dread to think what he did to the movement.
I’ll keep an eye out for replacement hands and find somebody to take a look at itEdit - it’s not the same watch.... any ideas the model no. ?

Is that the original case? Should have a reference number on the inside of the case back.

There’s a Silver Wave variant at auction on Tuesday, condition unknown though.... I was going to have a cheap bid for the bracelet alone but you want to roll the dice instead just let me know. https://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/auction-catalogues/lawrences-of-bletchingley/catalogue-id-srlawr10054/lot-c730f98e-bd48-464f-b188-aa5e00b64cb7

Sad face. It had a good run.
Friend said “get a lighter and melt it back together.” With nothing to lose, I carefully approached it with a flame, and it disintegrated. One of the small cracks turned Grand Canyon.
Good job I just popped a new crystal into this one, it’ll do for the trip to Germany next week.

Friend said “get a lighter and melt it back together.”
And I suppose if your friend said put your head in the oven, you’d do that too?

Dunno man, depends what’s cooking.

Personally I think good choice! It's what McGyver would've wanted. It's what the watch deserves... A burial of flames fit for a rugged norse god, but a glimmer of survivalist repair.

Thanks for that, good find. I’ve registered on the site. What would you thinks a reasonable bid with the condition unknown?

Back on the bracelet. My Erika MN broke so she's replacing it for free. Good on her part. Will buy another one too.

Well I’ve just noticed the seconds hand has moved between shots so it’s at least a runner and looks fairly clean. There’s an extortionate commission of 30% so maybe a bid of £70 ~ a ton all in.
If it wasn’t what you wanted I’d take the bracelet for £50.I’ve got my eyes peeled for the goth version...

You might be able to source a replacement resin bezel/case cover if everything else is intact, no? There are G-shock spares sites you can search by reference. Dunno if the cost would be worth it though.

Have a look here, may be able to get a replacement!

Thanks, seems the amount I was thinking too but I hadn’t seen the commission. If it doesn’t work out I’ll let you know about the bracelet
Wow the black one looks ace - is it going to be difficult to find? -

I’m away for two weeks from wednesday, so ordering this evening means the new bezel is unlikely to arrive on Tuesday in time for the trip. All the same, the old bezel disintegrated in my hands as I pulled it from the watch. I’d like to stealth it a little, so I’ll probably remove the red from the G on the lume button, and from the text on the bezel when it arrives.
Used some rouge on the shiny ring to matte it a little. Looks better brushed. Could do with sandpaper treatment to really dull it down.

Yes, it should look exactly like Tim’s assuming it is either a 6B/159 or an HS8.
These seem to be appreciating in value a lot at the moment.
It is possible to acquire original hands.
