I’m just testing the water as a chance has come up to buy one of my grail watches. I’d need to sell at least three Omegas: speedmaster mark ii racing; the blue 176.007 and a grey dial memomatic. Each has been recently serviced, has a perfect condition dial, original crown and crystal and critically, an unpolished case. All are on excellent or recently acquired NOS Omega bracelets, though the 176.007 is without end links.
If I can get buyers for all three pieces in the next day or two I’ll be able to do the deal so please be quick if you’re interested.

I'm not interested in the speedmasters (though they are all lovely)...

An unpolished Heuer 2447n.
Just to put the ‘unpolished’ aspect in context I searched for maybe 2-3 years each to find the unpolished examples of the watches I’m selling but I’ve never ever seen a similar condition 2447n on the open market.

I don’t know your financial circumstances but if it’s your true grail, just credit card it if you can. The watches you have for sale are desirable and will sell if you want them to. Would be a shame to miss out just because of timing. Buy now, sell later. If you are able to.

You’re right, except the heuer is a private sale so cash purchase only. Also I’m trying to buy the flat I’m in right now which mean my watch budget is strictly £0 net. On the other hand, what you say is also true for anyone interested in the pieces I have for sale, they’re all pretty hard to find in this condition :)

If I hadn’t bought the Seamaster I’d be snapping your arm off for the Speedy Mk II, fingers crossed you can liquidate. Maybe get some pics up to show just how good these pieces are...?

@freddo @Stonehedge I agree with borrowing if you know you have the money when these 3 sell. You can then be less rushed for liquidity and not be kicked on price.
However, if you know the seller and they won't just sell it to the first person who provides the cash, then maybe not.
Would be calamitous to sell 3 glorious watches that have taken you years to find at potentially less than market value, for the Heuer seller to have then sold it.

Collecting watches for me is as close to a gambling addiction as I'll get. You never know when something like this is going to pay off or just end in tears ;)

Actually I have a backup purchase which is also ok so I'm not quite at the point of calamity over selling these pieces even at a discount for a quick sale. And yeah, the Heuer is for sale on a forum on which people's word counts for something, so if I commit to the seller he would hold it for me.

@freddo Those Heuers are amazing. I’m not a chrono guy particularly but it’s one of my favourites, up there with the OG Ultraman and silver panda dial 6263.

I maybe love the white dial ever so slightly more than the black.

@Regal agreed, the white is also lovely. The reverse panda is the real killer piece, but they almost never come up and go for insane prices.

Love that watch. Something about the blue dial and fluoro orange hand. A lot going on but somehow it all balances.

Thoughts on this? Might benefit from a new crystal..
