  • Hmm. Hadn't considered Steinhart. I'll have an investigation.

A GS would be nice though, maybe if I save I can buy one for a fiftysomething birthday.

  • No doubt the GS GMTs are incredible - i love the SBGE201

£5.5k with 5 years interest free here.

  • Nice! The patina on those things looks amazing.

  • Seagulling today.

  • This is the cheaper version, the brass rather than the bronze. Decent value for money at $350 (think the bronze is about $1,300) and a bit different.

  • Helson with newly earned patina from wearing it on the sea loads on holiday.

Thanks again @Stonehedge for sorting me out with the replacement screwbar before I went away.

Having it back on a rubber strap was great much comfier than the original one that came with it that broke too.

  • Heh. I learnt from my own mistakes when younger not to go nuts on credit.

Mortgage payments only, everything else is save up for if I really want it.

  • That's very... colourful.

The white jumper sets it off.

  • It's more off white. Not sure if that's better.

I'm also wearing a bright orange jacket today, shield your eyes.

  • I looked into this a while ago. At the cheaper end they all seemed to be based around the ETA 2893-2 and I could only really find two options under a grand. The steinhart (which was a bit too dive watch for what I was looking for) or the Timefactors Speedmaster GMT which pops up on ebay every so often (I think there's one on at the moment).

After that there was stuff by Farer, Christopher Ward and Hamilton at around a grand. The Jazzmaster was pretty nice

There was also the Archimede one at about a grand that I was very tempted by (but it was twice the price of the Speedmaster GMT I did get and pretty similar looking)

Then it's a few grand for stuff like Oris, Sinn (they have a few nice ones), Baume & Mercier, etc

I'm sure there's some more out there but that's what came up when I looked into it.

  • Timex Expedition on jungle camo NATO for me today.

  • That's amazing value for money. I had one of the steel Helsons a while back and I loved it.

  • While we're on the topic of Casio's

  • Boss. I secretly hope you're wearing these too

  • Oyster with engine-turned bezel is 👌👌👌

  • Anyone want this (the F-108, not the Fenix!) for a fiver posted? I only use it these days for a morning alarm as it's a lot louder than my F-91.
