Excuse the dodgy pics, These are my pair of Chrono Lemanias. These were my Dads who used to work for BBC Radio 4. Reporters were given them to time there reports they date from the 1960's
On the reverse they have stamped BBC and induvidual serial numbers to whom they were issued. I have thought about getting the glass polished but in my mind adds to the patina and story of my Dads profession that saw them 'in action' in The first Gulf war, Bosnian war, Romanian revolution and Falklands etc

I like the strap, though possibly not the colours, and couldn't give a twat about it being a bottom-of-the-range Rolex.

This is also quite pleasant, I'm not sure if I prefer the black or the brown (yes, yes, I know):

After much consideration and reading I've narrowed my long-term watch goal down to the following, all by IWC:
It'd have to have a metal strap/band/bracelet/whatever. Sorry about the shite pictures, which do them no justice at all.
If I decide against IWC, which I doubt I will cos they are really great company with a unique take on watchmaking (so I gather), then possibly I'd go for a Rolex Submarine. Now all I need is several thousand pounds...

All good choices.
Prices have jumped about £500 in the last year.
Consider pre-owned and get your dream watch sooner and cheaper.

@Superprecise,
All lovely choices. Ones that I lust after myself. I was googling about a bit not so long ago, I like that this guy has the three different straps at his disposal. It seems to me to be a nice way of adding a little variety to a lovely watch

NB I am not part of the forum from which the link comes!
Well at least it doesn't have rusty screw heads like the skeleton AP pocket watch!
