  • This is my watch.

1950's Rolex Explorer, I even have the original reciept. It was my grandads, then my dads. Both now pastaway. So obvioulsy it has way more sentimental value than any of my bikes. I never really take it off. As a time piece it is pretty crap. It looses around 1/ 1.5 mins a day. Also the pepetual motion mechanism has broken, so unless I keep it wound up, it stops. None of this really matters though.

That's really, really nice. I'm guessing it won't have been messed about with if it's been in the family too.

If it's consistently slow, and you don't want to drop much cash, then just getting it regulated to adjust the overall speed would do. Personally, I'd like to get the automatic mechanism sorted though. Stick with good watchmakers that are at least certified in some way.

  • From the same place.

Rolex Oyster Perpetual GMT Master 67-68.

  • Cheers guys.

I've had it serviced (By someone independently not Rolex). They fixed the perpetual motion bit and gave it a bit of a birthday. It worked for 2 years but has only recently stopped. So yeah you're right, it might want a full on Rolex service. I dread to think how much that will cost.

I had mine done in 2009 and there was a standard charge of £250 for the service plus an 'age surcharge' of £35 (mine is early 70's). I took it to their service centre myself - it was in Bexley then, but they've moved to near Maidstone since then.

  • Those gold NATOs look fucking cool,

  • Massive!!!!!!!!!^

  • We've gone a bit posh haven't we?

I bought a new Swatch. Tells the time, looks okay, £20 - job jobbed.

I wish I had a desk job so I could wear a nicer watch. I would like a new dress watch since I sold my Seamaster last year, but I don't have much money to spare.

  • A nice minimalist but very rugged watch which I like is the current W10:

  • New strap for the Deminuer - official Bell & Ross rubber strap with deployment clasp. Prefer it to the steel bracelet.

Americans doing what they do best.

  • yup, selling european quality at a decent mark up

  • I've just gone and ordered another watch. This is the last in my collection. It's not big and it's not clever but it is an extremely beautiful watch, as an incurable aesthete it makes me moist. I will post pics when it arrives to share the beauty with my fellow chrono-nerds. It is the last one. I only have 2 wrists.

  • I need to find a suitable silver pocket watch for a photo shoot in the coming two weeks, ideally something similar to the one in the mockup attached, does anyone have anything that they would consider (for a small fee) loaning out for the day? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers
