Is the the Ray Mears watch you are talking about?

No. Mears wore one of these for a long time. Very tough and reliable watches. Hard to find for sale now days. He switched to a Rolex Sub a few years back.

It has incredibly similar minute and hour hands to that watch I own, you know, that funny one I don’t post about very often that you like.
Really do like it. Glad I don’t have the budget. For anything like that right now.
No sure how to organise the vat thing by proxy, but yea @>>>>>> I can always collect@store anywhere for you and get the post sorted. HSams and JL@Home both in my town.

Which model GShock is this?
-
• #28332
Looks like a DW5600 variant.
-
• #28333
Probably a DW-5600bb-1er
(BB is the suffix for black on black g shocks, they did a nice bbn that had a cordura strap) -

Thanks. Google wasn’t my friend!

I found this eventually:
https://justasmallblog.wordpress.com/2012/07/19/how-to-resize-a-seiko-collar-and-pin-watch-band/
I had thought the collar went in one of the outsides, and the pin went through the other. I could not get the collar to go in, so kept googling.
So, I put the collar in the middle part of the links, then holding the watch strap together force the pin back in. Helped to have a bit of metal to push the pin back in as it takes some force.

A proper tool like a Bergeon 3153 is far easier to handle than a paperclip.
-
• #28337
without a doubt, ages ago I bought a Bergeon 6767-F due to constantly changing watch straps. Also the fact that my Orient Mako 2 has curved spring bars which made it a bastard to replace.
-
• #28338
It's well worth buying a couple of spring bar tools, decent screwdrivers and a cheap loupe if you swap straps a lot. Saves a lot of case scratches and swearing.
You don't need to spend much.

That Ray Mears Eco drive... Years ago, back in 1998 to about 2002 I used to design the citizen brochures here in Aus. The whole studio got to buy direct from the warehouse for massive discounts. I was choosing between the Ray Mears watch and a perpetual calendar model. I chose the perpetual calendar.... That broke 3 years later. Regret that choice. Could have had the titanium beast for $100 AUD! Idiot. And CSB...

I love it when a punt pays off, especially having been burnt a few times in the past. Saw this locally for little money, crap pictures etc. Well pleased, looking forward to sticking a black perlon on it.

• #28348
I bought some of those adapter but couldn't get them to fit. Did you trip them at all?

Looks great. Perlon would be ideal.
I know, all good... 😂
And you're right, that Casio I just picked up off @pdlouche would be a perfect Ray watch...
