  • ...and looks shite

  • cheers. we'll give it a go

  • Why the urgent need for a deployment clasp? Anyway, they're about £4/500!?

Because only melts wear expensive chronographs without deployments ...

IWC straps are £200 and with daily wear can slowly begin to crack when used with a buckle because of the angle it bends when fastening the watch.

A deployment means the strap is never bent to extreme angles so it will last for many, many years. Plus your watch can't accidentally fall off you wrist.

Consider investing in a deployment clasp now, or you may need to buy a strap and clasp in 6 months.

They can be bought for about £150

Te hee. It does look modern.

    Hmm, food for thought

The croc strap on there now is really soft and supple so can't see it cracking though, no extreme bending angles either. I'll look into it though

When you out next at Souths? We can exchange watch tips :-)

  • On the subject of stealth watches, the Hublot King Power takes the biscuit

    nice.
    i had one.
unfortunately only for a couple of hours and had to give it back after photographing.

    I like both of these.

Perhaps the Panerai more than the Hublot.

  • The good thing about Panerai it's piss easy to change straps infact I probably chang straps more than I change tyres.maybe.

  • don't forget to proofide it

  • V Nice.

  • Help wanted...

My Omega Seamaster has got a problem. Basically, the watch bezel/mechanism is loose, and moves about in the case. Can anyone suggest somewhere to get it fixed? I'm in East London, so anywhere Centralish would be fine. Don't want to post it.

  • the dial moves around in the watch?

  • where can i get plain version of that clear swatch clone?

is there anyway to polish scratches out of swatch glass?

I just cleaned my swimming goggles/diving mask, and motorbike helmet using toothpaste.

If the scratches are deep you might not remove them. I just used my fingers and a soft cloth.... amazing.

    makes sense dunnit..?

  • the dial moves around in the watch?

Essentially, yes. It could do with a bit of a clean as well.

  • the dial feet have snapped off.
there is a good shop in central, can't remember the name though.
someone else might be able to help

  • I've been in Somlo before, I don't think they do the repairs themselves, they sub-contract.

Right, so I'm thinking of going to this place on Clerkenwell Road http://antiquewatchcouk.com/ Does anybody have anything good or bad to say about them?

  • This is the Omega Approved Service Centre for the UK.
I've heard good things about them.

Having been in there and another place over the road (Yellow front) I'm sure they'd be able to help. (Might not be certified Omega mind, but prob cheaper)

i've taken a few watches here. i'd recommend them.

anyone fess up to being this fellow?

  • Who would fess that up? Is it Pistanator? Looks like a Ridgeback? Must be him. Is it me?

  • I went to the place on Clerkenwell road this afternoon. Unfortunately, they're on summer holiday. Popped into the place across the road who gave me some useful advice, but I'll leave it for a few weeks before I make a decision on what to do, so that I can get a second opinion.

  • solomo will send back to omega for repairs. expect a long wait.

  • Well, it arrived and I have to say that it just doesn't suit my skinny wrists... Serves me right for buying before trying.

It keeps good time and is in very, very good condition.

    Will take £30 for it...
