SOrry CB but I'd prefer almost any other JLC model over that master compressor. No panache whatsoever. Its like ferrari making an SUV.
Before some smart alec points out that you can't take a Memovox down to 500m below, I fucking know. Diving can >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
(And I know ferrari have messed around with an SUV too)

Its a bit like that bike that the Aston Martin dearlership on park lane has in the window. It says Aston Martin on the frame but it still looks like a Foffa.

That font look a bit off on that JLC, look very Argos.
Just buy a damn watch already.

Splurge. The numbering and the softer bezel makes all the difference. Wonder what the price difference is?

They just ooze class and "heritage".
I think they're about £10k. Luckily for Ian the current ones are 45mm.

Should the bezel turn on the Seiko Divers skx031?
And which direction?
-
• #11116
Yes & always anti-clockwise.

Hmmmm...just got one off ebay and the bezel doesnt turn...
Doesnt seem to hold charge either but this may be because it hasnt been used in an age. Seems to work for a while or when the crown is out but stops when tightened again.
Wasnt overly expensive, so should I keep and get it looked at by a watch shop?

You can remove the bezel yourself with a sharp object (blade etc) without compromising the waterproofing of the watch. It should pop right off. Give it a good clean with rubbing alcohol etc then apply a small amount of lube / lithium grease etc and reattach. It should move freely then.
If it's not holding charge, I would suggest a service.

Is it just me or is it really hard to work out if a Panerai is real or not?

Right so popped the bezel off and apparently there should be a washer and a small sprinf under it? Neither are here? Did I lose them or has it been tampered with before?
How on earth do you get it back on?

it doesn't go back on

I'm not sure on the specifics of your model so can't help re: the mechanism.
To get it back on, do this:
- Put a towel on the floor
- Lay the watch face up on the towel
- Place bezel on watch and make sure to line up the 12:00 marker correctly
- Fold a piece of the towel over the watch and cover it
- Take a hardbound book and place it over the watch, bezel and towel
- Press down on the book until you hear the slight click of the bezel popping back into place
- Put a towel on the floor

Right... googled the SKX031 and yours has a case bearing which created the clicking / friction. It's supposed to be built into the case between the 7 & 8 markers...
There should be no washer etc.
Is the bezel straight all the way around? If it's been removed carelessly in the past, it may have bent, causing the bezel to stick.

If it says Parnis it's a fake...

So no washer, but also no case bearing, simply a hole in that position. Have replaced the bezel and it turns stiffly but no clicking and it turns in both directions.
Will upload some pics of the face in the evening, it looks like the glass has either been cut down from the side or been worn down. The bezel does not look oddly shaped so I think its the glass where the imperfection is.
Slightly higher offer accepted... Here we go...
Just been out with my old mate Bill, he was genuinely perplexed as to why I was spending so much money on a watch... Especially as I've only just bought a new Casio Bomber... He's still a musician...
I really can't blame him, I feel like a class traitor... But I love beautiful things... Oh well...
