It does sound like something is loose in the watch sometimes when i shake it you can hear a rattle and sometimes you cant. Thought this had something to do with why the watch stopped working every so often....perhaps its that bearing you mention...
Not experienced enough to remove the movement, might have to be a watch shop jobby.

This is a simple step by step guide on how to remove a 7S26 movement which is what is inside your Seiko:

Nice 1 will have a look tonight, cheers pal.
You reckon that bearing could be what interferes with the watch working internittently too?

It's unlikely. I'm pretty sure the bearing will be in the casing somewhere as if the bearing could fall straight into the movement, the watch wouldn't be waterproof.

Is it just me or is it really hard to work out if a Panerai is real or not?
Depends on the model.
Loads of the ceramica models are fakes. I pulled a trigger on one which turned out to be a fake. With Panerai a F2F deal is a must and ideally meet at AD to confirm authenticity.
A lot on eBay are fake.
Go to paneristi collectors market, or watchrecon.
The prices for Panerai are fucking stupid, so I'm sticking to Chinese homages.

Right... googled the SKX031 and yours has a case bearing which created the clicking / friction. It's supposed to be built into the case between the 7 & 8 markers...
There should be no washer etc.
Is the bezel straight all the way around? If it's been removed carelessly in the past, it may have bent, causing the bezel to stick.
Here are some pics:
Also what was the link you found the info about the bearings? Thanks again!

And a closer shot of the gap, as you see its from the 3-7 area where it looks odd. There is a definite gap there between the bezel and glass...

I deffo wouldn't do any kind of diving in that...

Ha! Just want to make sure its at least waterproof!
Any ideas how it could have happened? Perhaps its been opened and not put together correctly?

^this!
hmm... Sounds like a bit of a cut and shut job. There should be a small bearing in that hole. Have you tried opening the case, removing the movement and seeing if it drops out?
