  • that was fun to watch, great day out @Incredibly_Cross and @jammy

    Good racing @Chalfie @Sparky @owlz @Sumo and anyone I've missed.

  • @Chalfie and I sat on a stationary train watching our chances of racing disappearing as each minute passed.

  • Oh. That was that one was it?

  • Beer was immense. Thanks @amey.

  • Who got special brew? it was genius .. you refused beer during racing!?!

  • I took one hand up, I was thinking of taking another. But was "trying" too hard.

  • Started towards the back of Incredibly Cross, stayed mostly there - overtook a few before taking a wrong turn and doubling back to seem them pass me.

Took a hand up every lap though. The Real Quiz.

  • I thought hand-ups were mandatory. I was nearly sicking-up special brew for most of the race.

  • I took handups when I could. I was mostly concerned with getting back on my bike though. That was the second time I've ridden my cross bike. Hills are hard. I find running up them more tiring than the rest of it.

  • hah, the worst bit was repeatedly leaving in it too big a gear, running up the hill, grabbing the beer and then not being able to turn the pedals.

  • I thought the worst bit was almost getting the line right for the first bit, then spinning wheels and failing to get up, then cornering going back down and fucking the line up and fucking the ramp again. Every fucking time.

  • There was an annoying bit of log at the top of the second climbey bit that I kept bonking with my front tyre. Made me unclip a couple times.

  • I've ordered xl pro tnt now. I considered specialized terra Pro as well, but ended up on xl pro tnt as they are cheaper and higher tpi.
How low can you run yours without burps?

  • I've never burped them. Probably had them as low as 25 psi, if not lower.

  • I've ridden both tyres and prefer the Vittorias. They still seemed to grip pretty well at higher pressures too. I was running the non-tubeless version tubeless at 25/30 psi and didn't have any problems. I'm of the belief that you don't need to go quite as low as tubular pressures on a tubeless tyre to get the same feel and suppleness.

    Great tyres for the money.

  • Thanks @Jon. @andyp

Looking forward to it. £51 is cheap

  • Looking at pictures from Springfield Park today, I wish I'd been able to take part.

Did any of you from on here?

  • will anyone on here by driving to penshurst from central london and might have a space a car I could hire? it's a pain on the train!

  • I did it. It's fast with little elevation other than 3 sets of stairs. That plus the 2 double barriers mean there's a lot of jumping on and off the bike. Proper cross course.

  • The non-tubeless version are even cheaper. Think I got the pair for £30.

  • Chain reaction have the non tubeless version. £17 a tyre

  • Yes I have seen this thx. But given my burp problems with Vittoria XMpro this weekend, I have gone for the tubeless specific hoping I can run pressure lower than 40psi.

Glancing at the Brico Cross Geraardsbergen from yesterday I can't see any cantis in the whole field. Must be a first.

  • I was at Incredibly Cross yesterday! Much fun. Also won the fancy dress comp, pretty much by default. I also was the one who brought Special Brew. And Guinness. Basically the only way I could have been less appropriate was to ride a Boris Bike (which has been done before).
There's a bunch of great pics here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/gematkinson
And I'm sure more must have uploaded by now.

    Incredibly Cross

  • I'm pretty sure I nearly ran a photographer over.
