  • Given the weather lately, and the forecast, it's likely to be inner tubes demise on this occasion. It's got a bit of a reputation.

  • it's likely to be inner tubes demise on this occasion.

I killed a michellin mud II tyre last time out it was dry

Then I got run over on the way home

It was not a good day

  • That was HH at it's most bonkers though. Was like riding through a post-apocalyptic building site.

  • Worse than the mechapocalypse?

Then there was the time that they thought a massive kicker would be ok and on the first lap someone panic braked, endo'd and re-arranged their face

I'm sure my wife will be fine tho

  • I didn't ride mechapocalypse so can't comment. But that round two years ago was when they first used the course with all the excavated soil from the track centre and it hadn't settled so it was crazy.

The face rearranging was in the summer series a couple of years ago. Much blood.

  • No experience of the Wessex CX Swindon course on here then?! I'll just turn up and give it my best then. I'll let y'all know if night time cross is an experience worth repeating...

  • Let's see, mine was £12.50 anyway.

  • AH TYRE DILEMMAS FOR SUNDAY.

Also: Ludwig are you actually racing?

  • Hello Damo. Well I am not really a racer but I got addicted to timing chips last month and have entered the over fifties event.

Neither am I a mechanic but thanks to the @Fox toolbox the FSA slight hollow carbon cranks might stay attached to the bike. The front TRP 8.4 were not easy to set up but seem to be working. Mud2 from @Ramsaye tomorrow. Rear brake fitting, gear cable, spacers and headset adjusting, indexing, and fitting the Time cleats to the shoes should be able to get the bike ready.

  • Ludwig is racing? out.

  • Later, you're not that aged to be mistaken for 50 plus.

Ludwig, that's awesome. I love that you've got all the blingy bits...

  • RE: Super Cross Kings Cross, the course is quite narrow in places which has meant we have had to restrict the maximum number of riders per race for safety.

So the categories are split to break down the men into multiple separate and shorter races, plus there will be a women-only race. And a night time fun race!

It's not going to be a traditional cx race by any means but I guarantee it will be fun and very different to anything London has seen before!

  • Narrow course, obstacles, concrete. What could possibly go wrong?

  • Tyres are strapped to the top of my bag. See you at the Chesham later.

  • I appear to have entered. Now to explain this to the family.

  • Very technical ponton in the wet.

  • That's the Vuelta TTT course right?

  • I might wear my full face helmet for this one.

  • Thanks! Legs and elbows felt good. Ah well.
I'm filling up some tubs with sealant for HHV

  • Tubs at a dry HH?

  • Latex tubes and Jets?

  • Definitely. Less chance of pinch puncturing than clinchers. I guess some kind of tubeless with a not too fragile sidewall would actually be perfect though.

  • Never know what to run. This first weekend of October London League round always seems to happen on warm and sunny days though, so file treads should probably be the first choice.
