I thought my last 19 second lap was particularly impressive. But somewhat gutted as I took three riders in the last 20 yards of the track (a good learning from my first race at Bethlem - if you aren't doing 800 watts on the last 100 meters someone will scalp you)
Timed it with my garmin so I should be able to work out where I finished.

Garmin reckons a finishing time of 36.33 which would have placed me 54th / 79 finishers and 5th in the GX cat.

Geared down for this race a little, running 39x18. Felt a little low - couldn't really sprint for the finish and was a little slower on the section on the infield but nice to be nippy out of the corners. Be about right come worse weather and mud I expect (heavy rain predicted for sunday...).
Anyway, at least I finished this round! (punctured at the last Herne Hill race) and I'm pretty happy with a 34th.

Anyone else ride at Hog Hill on Sunday? Tricky course: everything was off-camber and the slippery clay on the lower parts of the course made staying upright a challenge, let alone racing! My 30c clinchers certainly didn't help matters, looking forward to a bit more clearance on the new frame.

I went on Saturday instead. Sunday looked epic! I'm a bit gutted I had a couple of drinks Saturday eve and wasn't really up for it in the morning :-(

Anyone up for doing the three pringles route soon?
I "borrowed" a route from Garmin Connect, went out and tried to follow it on my own, got lost and then crashed.
SO- a huge success!
Keen to get back on the horse as it were and ride it, enjoy it, and get home without destroying any bike parts.

Get the tour from Hyperbole. Wear leggings - the route is bity and stingy.
Meanwhile anyone racing at hillingdon on Sunday?

• #313
I'll offer him a helmet in exchange.

Where/what is the three pringles route?

Wasn't sure between Hillingdon and Brighton.... I know one is a bit closer :-)

When are you going to do it?
If I'm well enough, and I've been ill for nearly two fucking weeks, then I'm planning on doing the London League round in Brighton on Sunday.

I was thinking Sunday, I've got to go to clear out the last few things in my late grandparents house on Saturday.
Have you got a .tcx of the proper route that you could email me Andy?

• #319
What's a .tcx? As hyberbole will attest, the first time we did it, I turned up with a print out of John Mullineaux's description from the Cross Crazy website.

Got stuck in traffic because of some weird event that was taking place in London (triathlon) and arrived 5 min late for sign on. Looked like a proper cross race :)

In the dark? Are you mad?

Why not?

There be dragons.
I've just signed up for the Go Cross race at Hillingdon on Sept 30. My only goal for this season is to not end up dead last in every single race I do... I'm not sure I'll achieve this.
