  • Thanks Andy, I will try and sort out a lift/permission to shoot.

Is there any others happening nearby fairly soon?

  • Not that I'm aware of. It's getting towards the end of the season, so there's not many races left. The Central league is finished, not sure about the Eastern league.

  • Oh well, I will try and get on that one you linked me too! Thanks again

  • Is anyone from here going to the dartford event on the 22nd? If so would anyone be up for getting a few portraits before and after the race in exchange for a couple of prints?

  • I should be riding, and would think a few others from here would be. I'm happy to volunteer to be one of your subjects.

  • That would be great if you could! I want to get a portrait of a few people in all their gear before they race and then another shot exactly the same after the race with mud etc on them. I will be shooting the racing too so like I said I will be happy to post you a few prints of you and anyone you know who is keen riding plus a portrait.

Would it be ok to message you nearer the time to exchange details?

  • Of course.

  • Thank you, you have been a massive help!

  • Happy to pose, you might need a wide angle lens though.

  • Great! Haha don't worry it will probably be just a head shot but as I said to Andy i'm happy to send you a couple of prints to return the favour!

  • Ian Field won, his first national title but long overdue as he is the best cross racer we have currently.

He just hadn't been very lucky in a field for a while.

  • I'll be riding and happy to get photos done. Better clean my bike now!

Thank you, I will message you my number nearer the time if thats ok. Like the others if you help me I will send you some prints for helping me out.

  • Tried using fixed wheel for cross in the early eighties with limited success! Didn't win found it 'ard - also found that road tyres are useless too - but hey at least I didn't let lack of a cross bike stop me riding!

  • That's the spirit. There was someone at hillingdon earlier this season fixed on slicks. He looked like he was really enjoying it.

  • Is round 13 of the London Cross League at the Wilmington Grammar School for boys? I'm a bit confused as there is quite a few schools near by and I'm travelling quite far so I don't want to get lost.

Google maps is saying here, is this correct?

I'm sending a PM to all of the guys who said they would help me by letting me get their portrait with my phone number and email so we can meet up on the day.

    Cheers

    Chris

  • That's the right school, Chris.

    See you on Sunday.

  • Thanks!

  • Today was sick, thanks to Andyp and Rameye for helping me out. I'll post the photos when they are all sorted, shot so much today.

  • Nice to meet you Chris.

Please tell me you took your finish line photo of Ramaye whilst he was on all fours coughing his lungs up!

  • I considered it but I became all ethical and refrained! I've been working on the photos today, I have a few of you both riding too.

  • I've finished sorting the photos from Sunday, you can see them here http://www.chrislanaway.com/clientimages/

Andy and Ramaye, PM me your address's and I will send out some photos to you. I'm getting prints done early next week.

  • They look great, Chris. Will pm you later.

  • Is anyone else going to the world champs in Koksijde on Sunday?
