and about cyclocross bikes?
In my opinion, these bikes are the most flexible! They are an excellent and confortable commuter bikes (just changing the tires for city), for touring (if possible install racks), as a road bikes (changing the speed ratios and tires) and of course for cyclocross. -

Today, former world champ Lars Boom will ride the world cup CX at Namur's Citadel. It's one of his 6 'fun training days' because the road season is top priority (such a shame). Let's see if he's able to keep up with Nys, Pauwels & Stybar... I reckon he will.
Watch it here from 13.30 (race starts at 14.00) UK time: http://sports-livez.blogspot.com/

If anyone is considering trying a cyclocross race then you should consider the Go Cross race being held at Herne Hill on the 5th of February;

I'm still waiting for Rapha to do a perforated pad for that section. Until then all the water retention makes me look a bit portly.

Ahh, Todmorden, that is an absolute classic of a course. Did you get any pictures of the cobbles? I spent too long loitering near the pits and then having to cut my gf's shoe of because the ratchet system had jammed. Guessing that this is the seniors and elites race but early on. Don't think I saw anyone ride it after we returned half way through the race.
For those not present, the left hand riding line was even deeper, possibly fork deep rather than mech deep.

A few more photos from one of the Norton Wheelers kids who had also ridden the course earlier.

Just saw Sven Nys winning the Belgian nationals today, I'll be rooting for him in the worlds at Koksijde the 29th, I think he's the best rider there has been for a long long time
Lars Boom is Dutch champ again, not surprisingly
How did it go over on your island guys?

Ian Field won, his first national title but long overdue as he is the best cross racer we have currently.
-
• #147
OK I'll probably see him in Hoogerheide and keep an eye out for him in the worlds
UK Ladies' was won by Helen Wyman I see, for the 5th time in a row... let's see if she can give Marianne Vos a bit of competition (although Vos tested a higher watts/kg value than Lars Boom last week - ouch)

Field is based in Belgium (he shares a house with Helen Wyman) and has a contract for the Superprestige series this season. Hopefully having the national champion's jersey will help raise his profile and get him a decent contract for next season.

I have a assignment for uni which requires us to photo an event, ideally a event which we have some interest in and get some portraits and obviously lots of photos of the event for my professional practices unit. I want to try and cover a cyclocross event but I can seem to find one in the next two weeks, is there any happening in the London, Brighton or West Sussex area on a sunday? If anyone knows of any organisers that would be even better, I will provide them with photos as repayment.

The next round of the London Cyclocross League is two weeks today, the 22nd, at Wilmington school near Dartford.
More details here;
http://www.londonxleague.co.uk/round-13/
As to taking photographs, I'm sure if you let the organiser know on the day that you plan to do so then it'll be fine. There are usually 2 or 3 people taking photos during most London League races.
That's a powerful look right there and one of the reasons I stopped using Pound Shop razors to shave my legs...
