  • You'll be flying up those shallow climbs en France now :)

  • good effort!

  • Ved, the first route contains that climb. Purple_mj, we'll have to sort something out. I know the routes will be fine, it's all about getting the timings right for the return train. Tim, good effort!

  • Sam - all the routes look great. pick one and then choose a tuesday after 21st april. we'll be fine with the trains if they are that frequent. excellent work. looking forward to this immensly

  • Route 1 ftw

  • Anybody riding tonight, after about 8pm?

  • anyone else fancy this hackney thing on the 19th?

Tim, I don't know if you saw the other thread I posted:

    http://www.londonfgss.com/thread19832.html

The 'Round Chelmsford' ride has been moved to the 26th. Sorry for giving the wrong date--I didn't know this had been done. I'm now not completely sure I'll be able to make it, but I'll try my best.

  • Anybody riding tonight, after about 8pm?

    bmmf, not me.

shootthebreeze, gustav, clintsmoker and I have been out today reccie'ing the next TNRC out in the Chilterns. shoots has come up with a lovely route. will leave him to expand on that.

hopefully catch up with you on one of your spontaneous night rides soon dude

  • Is the Chilterns on April 21st? Might try to book the evening off work...

I'm going to head out on my track bike tonight, and do something incredibly tedious, very close to home. Will need the miles next Tuesday, if it's on/I'm available.

  • ^ yeah, it is on the 21st dude. would be cool to have you out there.

  • roger that bmmf. next tuesday is on. james will be posting the details, trains, meeting point, route etc as soon as he has fed himself back to life.

oliver - saw that mate. will try to do it i think should be cool.

get ready to put your names down for the chilterns ride april 21st, details on the way

  • If I'm in, I'll have my Network card, so if it's awkward to do GroupSave, you can just select the Network option on the ticket machines and get a 1/3 off. That's me, plus 3 others.

From what I understand, there are GroupSave options as follows: 4 @ 1/2 price or 3 @ 2/3 price - but the tickets are bought as a single transaction.

Whatever. Train geek. Got to start getting the toddler ready for bed, then do 20min warm-up on the turbo, and then hit Islington's most exclusive velodrome for about 2 mins of actual effort :S

  • Nice one today fellas.
Lovely trip down memory lane for me, and a nice ride in the Chilterns for all...

    Here's the route :

    http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2711163

All the details for the ride on 21st April, week tomorrow, to follow tomorrow.

  • cool...check with jonny about network rail cards and their validity under £10 bmmf.

    james - seriously good work

  • ohh cool.I used to live in Amersham have been wanting to get over that way for ages. I must rty and get on this one. Next week, right. Not tomorrow?

  • mikec - yep 21st of april

  • cool...check with jonny about network rail cards and their validity under £10 bmmf.

    Oh poo. [/weekend warrior]

(but I think GroupSave is probably still an option)

  • sometimes there is a ticket for 9 quid and then another option at 10 .30 pounds or something ridiculous. obviously 4 at half price on that would be a lot cheaper. but we'd have to check it out

  • looks great guys

  • Damn, probably going to have to give this one a miss. Will be flying in from NYC that morning on the overnight flight so doubt I'll be in any fit shape to ride past shootthebreeze's junior and secondary schools.

  • I've just got back from the most boring 90 minutes on a bike EVER. I'm craving a bit of turbo training now for some excitement, but will make do with chocolate and whisky.

  • think of it as mental training. you might have to sit through a liverpool game one day mate

  • think of it as mental training. you might have to sit through a football game one day mate

No thanks. Wasted enough time doing that already.

  • i use liverpool matches as training for long tortuous sessions on the rollers or painful hill climbs

  • I use my life as a metaphor for suffering in general.
