Ved, the first route contains that climb. Purple_mj, we'll have to sort something out. I know the routes will be fine, it's all about getting the timings right for the return train. Tim, good effort!

Tim, I don't know if you saw the other thread I posted:
http://www.londonfgss.com/thread19832.html
The 'Round Chelmsford' ride has been moved to the 26th. Sorry for giving the wrong date--I didn't know this had been done. I'm now not completely sure I'll be able to make it, but I'll try my best.

Is the Chilterns on April 21st? Might try to book the evening off work...
I'm going to head out on my track bike tonight, and do something incredibly tedious, very close to home. Will need the miles next Tuesday, if it's on/I'm available.

If I'm in, I'll have my Network card, so if it's awkward to do GroupSave, you can just select the Network option on the ticket machines and get a 1/3 off. That's me, plus 3 others.
From what I understand, there are GroupSave options as follows: 4 @ 1/2 price or 3 @ 2/3 price - but the tickets are bought as a single transaction.
Whatever. Train geek. Got to start getting the toddler ready for bed, then do 20min warm-up on the turbo, and then hit Islington's most exclusive velodrome for about 2 mins of actual effort :S

Oh poo. [/weekend warrior]
(but I think GroupSave is probably still an option)

sometimes there is a ticket for 9 quid and then another option at 10 .30 pounds or something ridiculous. obviously 4 at half price on that would be a lot cheaper. but we'd have to check it out
-
• #369
looks great guys
-
• #370
Damn, probably going to have to give this one a miss. Will be flying in from NYC that morning on the overnight flight so doubt I'll be in any fit shape to ride past shootthebreeze's junior and secondary schools.

I've just got back from the most boring 90 minutes on a bike EVER. I'm craving a bit of turbo training now for some excitement, but will make do with chocolate and whisky.

• #372
think of it as mental training. you might have to sit through a liverpool game one day mate

No thanks. Wasted enough time doing that already.

• #374
i use liverpool matches as training for long tortuous sessions on the rollers or painful hill climbs

I use my life as a metaphor for suffering in general.
You'll be flying up those shallow climbs en France now :)
