The 'I used to know the ICF chaps' discount you mean....

I used to work with a bloke who ran with the ICF. He had a student railcard, signed off by some friendly university lecturer for a pint.

Gutted, must have just missed you all! After blowing my mind at work today I got on the slow train from finsbury park.
Tried to catch up, but decided to give up just after crossing the motorway.
Should have known I was cursed when I left the T off TNRC. Beware the formatting.
Hope the ride went well.

Another awesome TNRC outting. Never fails to disappoint. What on earth will I do after the last one of the year? sigh Big thanks to Scarlett for organising and to all who were out riding tonight.

Sorry you missed us, STE5.
It was Autumn proper out there. Windy, eerily dark, silent; both and riders and nature slowing down in readiness for feasting and sleeping.
Bombay mix and a whisky before bed.

just what i needed to boost morale after the debacle of falling leaves. good to be out in the dark from the off. always seems to mean 'ride proper' when it's dark. was a heads down, serious pedal turn ride tonight. everyone was quiet..just getting on with it (not that the pace ever went above rolling which was good) thanks to wools for tracker bar, martin for light and a bite. skully...sit down a minute...i'm afraid we have some rather unfortunate news...your frog was lying arms and legs akimbo , squashed dead. Soz mate.
Stat munchers - 1 puncture, 1 dead frog, 1 new speedometer (wools) no macky d's at the end.
great to see everyone out there. thanks scarlett.surrey here we come. awards night details to be posted tomorrow.
soda farl with lurpak and camanbert

Excellent evening all round as ever - dark from the start and felt like a 'proper' night ride again. Great route BMMF and a nice rolling pace throughout.Good luck for Sunday.
There was something very Brave New World about WGC though - are there actually any real people there?

Great ride Scarlett... cheers.
Night was definitely "closing in", but the whole affair... even the flat, felt very calm.
Spot on with the whole BNW in WGC Des. D'ya think Sir.Terence knows what he's in for ??
Shame to hear you just missed out STE5, and everyone else that didn't make it... not a single drop to sully the proceedings.
My tyre just about held out to the door,
and then cheese n pickle re-stocked the tank.
Looking fwd to the category announcements Tim.Catch you all in Surrey for the end of season TT.

lovely ride last. dark, quiet and smooth - like the G.
really enjoyed those herts (and beds) lanes. cheers scarlett for leading that one out. that route will definitely be part of the TNRC 2010 calendar.
having sensibly capped the ride at 15 just the nine of us took to the blacktop last night. for those that bailed (hiding behind a plethora of excuses that all amounted to not fancying dealing with rain) you missed a really nice pace 40 miler with some smooth surfaces. the damp on the tarmc dulled the noise of the tyres and with a moon nigh on full it was a sweet, if a little eerie, ride.
roll on the Surrey Hills Race in two weeks time and then on 3 Nov we will switch the blacktop for the black stuff. it's what George Bernard Shaw would have wanted.

oh, and it was saint agur for me when i got home. also, limped home on a slow puncture. then left my bike completely unlocked outside my flat. i love SE15.

then left my bike completely unloved outside my flat
You're a callous man.

Sounds very agreeable, I always regret missing rides, particularly when the weather ends up holding up so well.
I spent a thoroughly miserable hour on the turbo trainer after eventually leaving the office. A real sufferfest.

Was an excellent ride, looking forward to Surrey Hills. I've just been thinking about training for it, my plan is to climb Swains Lane next Tuesday.
