it's made of metal and you put your bike on it indoors so you can ride when it's raining...you know a ....TURBO TRAINER!! that was what i was thinking of last night.

Was an excellent ride, looking forward to Surrey Hills. I've just been thinking about training for it, my plan is to climb Swains Lane next Tuesday.
Fancy doing the Surrey Hills route on one of the Saturday or Sundays before the next TNRC, Matt?

That could be a goer but I think I'm limited to the 18th (i.e. the Sunday before) or would that be too close (ride it, a day to rest, then ride it again).

you can do the hills lads. make no mistake it's tough but you can do it no probs. it's more important to go to get an idea of where you are because bearings can be a bit strange out there and people get split apart more than on any other ride. it's a beautiful place to ride this time of year too

beautiful = pain

I've just consulted my diary secretary (Google Calendar) and I'm not actually free on the 18th. Anyone else fancy doing it on any of the weekend days before then?
-
• #3433
maybe the 17th?

... skully...sit down a minute...i'm afraid we have some rather unfortunate news...your frog was lying arms and legs akimbo , squashed dead. Soz mate....
Heh, only just seen this.
Fucking frog dereserved it, sitting on that road for a good 8 weeks? What did he expect? I have no sympathy.

such manoeuvres are best avoided at 17MPH
-
• #3438

roll on the Surrey Hills Race in two weeks time and then on 3 Nov we will switch the blacktop for the black stuff. it's what George Bernard Shaw would have wanted.
looks like i will miss the last ride of the season but will make it just in time, probably jet-legged to the ceremony and hopefully bringing along some njs goodies.

That's a real pity Claus...
But the lure of NJS sparklies due to your absence more than makes up for it... hee hee
That and the fact that the Surrey TT is now wide open. -

Hardly - I spat Claus off my wheel last time, like a rogue piece of seed hull in some kind of sour German bread/cake hybrid.

Gears don't count.

After ROTFL, it sounds like you'll be getting the Rapha Softshell on the podium.

• #3448
Glad to hear you had another great ride.
Shoots, just so you know, I wasn't tucked up in bed until 10.30pm. Rock 'n' Roll!!

Ha ha...
You'll need all that energy for Surrey.
Stick it in the diary now : Tues 20th Oct. -
