am clearly not using my brain, but where and when does everyone meet for the ride out? or do people just meet out at the station?
-
• #1106
It's been a while since I did electronics. I can probably solder a new battery connector onto my light but I was hoping there would be some electronics geek on here so 1. I wouldn't need to own more fucking tools and 2. I wouldn't kill £150 worth of light because I'm an impatient, idiotic retard.
So, any soldering gurus on the forum? Maybe a new thread.. ?
I'm now thinking about the ride out. Saves the faff with trains.
What's the chop with pace and stops? I can do 140k without water but it's not fun nor particularly sensible..

dancing james - if you want to go by train meet at liv st station in good time to get ticketed and coffeed etc for the 19:13. the guys like to be ready by 19:00 so that as soon as the platform number comes up they are first on, thus saving potential hassle. if you want to ride out with scarlet and the others meet them where hippy linked you to. i'll repost the details later and the map of the ride itself (now read @all)
@all - details for ride and map will be posted later just to remind everyone. please print off a copy of the map just in case something happens. plenty of us know the way but plenty don't and if you should get lost for any reason you'll be truly f**ked without it.
@ hippy + all - the chop with pace and stops......good question! the pace on the last ride was about 17 mph which i think was pretty high considering we had a lot of new faces. there are a lot of good riders here and they chomp at the bit on these flat rides but having said that i think we should play it cool and stick together again until the last romp home which turned into a free for all and kinda worked. STOPS - well to be honest the TNRC is all about not stopping. if we ride hard enough we should make it to the pub with plenty of time for a pint before the train home otherwise only punctures and technicals really call a halt to the riding. Don't be put off by this anyone who thinks they will be suffering, talk to myself , jonny or any of the regulars if you are feeling in need of a couple of minutes for a refresher, we will gladly bring the group to a halt at a junction. The TNRC prides itself on it's riding etiquete.
RIDING ETIQUETE - just a quick word - could we all please make an effort to go single file if you hear a shout of 'car behind' . This just makes everyones lives easier, safer and takes but a few seconds.

PAY ATTENTION
LIVERPOOL ST 19:13
TOTTENHAM HALE 19:25train people - arrive early, get tickets and be ready to board first. Be prepared to double up in doors or fill the front carriage.
train people - perhaps a tot hale could phone a liv st to get the low down on how busy the train is and where to strategically stand on the platform etc - just an idea
riders to roydon - if you are meeting bmmf make sure you aint late. have you arranged other pick up points? do you know how to get to roydon if you missed bmmf or punctured and had to be left behind for a bit? be as independent as possible.

All - maps, lights, tubes, money etc etc etc. we have often found electrical tape, rubber bands, tyre boots, and biscuits to come in handy on these rides. All - ride safe and easy. this looks like being the busiest ride yet. keep your distances, make clear and consistent shouts for cars, pot holes etc. and ride single file when you here a 'car behind' shout as soon as is safely possible.
looking forward to a great ride

Jonny, or someone, can you PM a phone number?
-
• #1125
nice one mashton. we at liv street all got on near the front last time but call and confirm. i am sure we will all fit on nicely. try and stay away from stairs and carpets in the meantime.
It was 88 miles from Old St-Old St (25 each way on top of the ride proper).
I'll be holding people up. It's imperative that I don't waste any energy on these long and rubbish flat miles at the moment.
And I'll have my windcatchers on again.
