25 miles, up and down the A4 riding a steel gate with drops.... I need more convincing
Last time I saw Arthur Frost (Newbury RC) he was riding up and down the A4 on a steel gate with drops, on fixed. By then he had ridden well over 50 consecutive TT seasons in spite of a pretty serious run-in with cancer. If he could do it, I'm sure you'll be fine.

I've ridden 12hrs up and down the A4
When? In training, presumably, as there hasn't been a 12 on the A4 in living memory, if ever.
-
• #9004
Yes, training. Actually, if I totted up the miles on the A4, actually fuck that.. I'm out bishes

21:38 on the K41/10 (this year's National 10 course), 108" fixed. Fastest I've gone on that course, quicker than my geared PB on it (21:40 something, last year on fixed my best was 22:26), bloody windy!

Decathlon mitts FTW.

On me they're the fastest ones I've ever tested, even more than the lobster Castelli gloves. When they were on offer and £7.99 I bought 8 pairs :D
-
• #9009
Are they faster than no gloves?
hopes overpriced Castelli purchase justified
-
• #9010
Yeah, I don't actually mind that one. His 'Tron' one was a bit much for me.
The Shiv ain't exactly slowing me down though.
-
• #9011
On me, yes
-
• #9013
Yes.
(obviously red is faster)
-
• #9014
Yes.
@boredom actually, no. Xav's are the 900 Aerofit , not the 700. I can't see the difference apart from the colour, but generally 900 is BTwin's top-end offering and 700 is second tier.

I think it they've might have just renamed then with the introduction of the new, even nastier colour.
I have some pairs of the 900 and they're nice. Not easy to remove, but nice.

Bigger is better. Look out bishes!

Sick! 55t? You'll need it for F11/10 on bank holiday Monday.
-
• #9018
Yeah, I have a 54 Geb so I thought I'd go bigger on this one.
F11/10? Is that another race I've missed the entry window for?
-
• #9019
Does anyone have any extensions they want to sell?
I'm thinking carbon ski bend but I'm not sure. I want them similar to the Shiv bars but without the kink out to the side.

Yes, you need to have been born before May 4th 1975 to get in, it's Vets only.
-
• #9021
That would be why it's not in my get 'your PBs here - cheat course' calendar
-
• #9022
Oh ffs
-
• #9023
Most TT's I go to are 75% Vets and more often not won by a Vet. Yesterday's hardrider was no exception - Rob Pears taking the win (at 50!)
-
• #9024
Maybe time to become Non-Vets CA and organise some races..
-
• #9025
Those already exist, they're called road races.
I've ridden 12hrs up and down the A4 on a plastic bike with rusty cables. Your ride will be over a lot quicker..
