Ha. Thinking outside the box :)
-
• #778
Yes, it's really quite hard to play Scrabble if it's all in the box.
-
• #779
Yeah I always struggle with the jail time in scrabble. Having to pay so much to get out is very annoying.

got myself a TT bike last week, really enjoying riding it when the weather isn't shitty.
i think i need to work on my flexibility, other than just riding what exercises/stretches/ect can i use to help improve?

The main point which seemed to emerge from Cancellara's fitting session was the unusually large range of movement in the hip joint, i.e. stretching the gluteals. If you can keep the hip angle closed, it means you don't have to arch the spine as much to keep the shoulders low.

seriously..they have tt's in richmond park? that's worth a trip!
are they crazy early in the morning though? -

Does the SRAM cassette have no ratcheting? Spins his cranks back pretty easy, like my old trials bike.. shins + pedal = fun.
Also, his cadence is well up there. I'm sure mitre_tester has calculated it.. what is he at?
-

He probably has ceramic bearing in the BB, hub and pulleys, which would make some difference to the drag when pedalling backwards. The ratchet would be down to Zipp.
Very difficult to guage cadence, although he would probably have been hitting 120rpm+ on the 54/11 top gear on the fast downhill bits. He seems most comfortable on the flat at around 110.

Reading that Frank Schleck can't touch his toes either is somewhat comforting.

Thinking about buying a set of the Planet x 101/82 Carbon wheels
Saw some Craig(the organiser of the eve 10 tt's) at Naverstock last year and he had a set and seemed happy with them.
Anyone else got any experience of them?
-

I'd go with a disc rather than a 101 if it were me.
FWIW, Mrs S broke the Kingston Wheelers Gil Jessop Sporting 14 course record yesterday by nearly a minute riding Planet X model B's.

Rebecca slack is your wife??
She's quick
Still tempted by the 101's The model b's aren't very deep are they?
-
• #792
Model B's aren't deep at all. I wasn't suggesting you buy them; was just making the point that you don't necessarily need expensive wheels to do well. I believe that they are £99 for the pair.
She is quick. But she trains very very hard.
-
• #793
Yeah, good point, probably getting carried away by the carbon thing
-
• #794
Carried away? There's no such thing.
I'm buying all this shit to make up for 0 quality training in the last 3 months. :( -

Have another biscuit to console yourself.

You mean another pack.. us hill climbing champions need the energy..
-
• #798
Nope. Done a few tests. Power is waaaay down and I've now skipped so many sessions I'm feeling like just chucking it in. Looks like I'll be doing the old get fit from racing thing. That trick never works. Arse.

It worked for Jan Ulrich, sometimes..

He had natural talent
for eating pies and injecting EPOthough.
Lazy Susans are great for playing Scrabble on. No more arguments about who has to see the board upside down, ever!
