Shows that you've done it right. At the end of my TT's I often struggle to walk.
Good to know! I imagine it'll be a continual learning curve to know when to give it the beans and not going off too early.
I have to ride home, all of 1/4mi
I thought I had it good riding 1mile home afterwards.

Do you guys have routes that you regularly ride or do you go out for 10 miles anywhere as training?

^ This is what I need.
At the end of my TTs I hand in my number and ride straight home. Not trying hard enough :/
I did this a few weeks ago and rode back at (nearly) the same average speed!
I'm very much not doing this right.

My club has a handfull of routes and a TT (of some kind) every week. It's not long before you're riding the same course.
I'm not sure if this is typical.

I only have one local route, but I do live in a valley so I only have two choices of direction - north or south

I just pb'd with a 24.42 tonight, got a free beer and a lift home too...

Not exactly a dragstrip either. Bumpy is the word!

Just found a 10 mile route near work, if I can find something to do from 5pm - 7pm. Luckily, the Manc Wheelers Club 10s are on Mondays, which isn't a polo or pubquiz day or likely to interfere with weekend activities.

Pint and some chips, what I had today, rode there a little fast and arrived at 16.45.
Was either that or a three hour warm up..

Tripel Karmeliet in 48 seconds. Could do better.

48! Taking it easy or did you forget the aero aids?

That's with the pour, bitches!

^^Just sub-25mins I think. Maybe bang on. It was wet, and a straight headwind on the return leg. Only concession to aero was 50mm rims, done on my normal road bike this time. Went just to clock up the miles on the ride in and out so quite pleased with it really.
Only one other person was there doing it on a road bike with no clip-ons, everyone else was worryingly serious =/
Or seriously slower than you :D was that you in Rollapaluza kit 6pt? I'm the fat bald Catford CC rider :D That was only my fourth ride on a geared bike for many years
I won't be there tomorrow but will be week after (still trying to get used to gears) :D

^it was. I stared at you funny because I thought it might be you after our little chat post-HotA, but wasn't in the mood to engage.
Can't do tomorrow due to work commitments but will be out again soon, maybe on the out-and-out TT fixed but will have to work on my spinning for the return leg.
Massively overtraining at the moment which has done interesting things for killing any fight in my legs but they're still quite happy to turn over a reasonable gear for a bit once they're up to speed.

Hopefully you mean 'overreaching'. If you *are *actually overtraining, bad things are on the horizon…
-
• #2194
actually overtraining. I know.
-
• #2195
Half of training is resting. You know that too.
-
• #2196
Yup.
-
• #2197
What are you training for 6pt?

^massive aero advantage. What happens mid-ride when you've eaten one though?
