  • Riding fixed? I know Rob from the Cat will be.

  • Are you riding? What's your name? Say hi at the H.Q. No I'm riding gears, gonna put my tri bars "up" Friday after the club ten Thursday night, will take a road bike out as a back up, fixed for 12 hours, bugger that!!!!

  • Will my Garmin Edge 500 last 12 hours????

  • Doubt it! you could store a store a power pack on your top tube and plug it in though!

  • I'm pretty convinced mine will. Will be gutted if it goes!

  • I get 14 hours out of mine regularly.

  • I'll grab my partners Edge 200 and use that if mine dies!

  • New iO?

  • Could he not find a bigger jockey wheel?

  • New iO?

New last year, maybe. Looks like a regular Io Rio unless you've spotted some subtle difference.

  • My ruler says 48.5% open area for the Io Rio, so comfortably CTT legal. Maybe you should buy one to test :)

  • Have a nice day out on the bike tomorrow, @umop3pisdn

  • I'm sorry to hear that Sam's fears for the Kent 12 were correct - I've just heard that it has been cancelled.

I'm sure we all wish umop3pisden success tomorrow.

  • Thanks both

  • What number are you off?

  • See you there Andy, all the best.

  • You too chief

  • Good luck @umop3pisdn

  • And may your gooch hold strong!

  • Hope Andy's having a good ride.

I did the Chelmer CC Spoco 25 this morning. It was horrible.

Got off to a bad start by forgetting my Garmin, disc wheel pump adapter and chamois cream. Felt like my legs had nothing in them towards the end of the second lap, and I could really tell I'd forgotten my chamois cream, so I decided I was going to stop. I'd nearly caught my minute man by the end of the first lap, and by the end of the second he was out of sight again. I lost too much speed on the uphill drags, and the downhills were too twisty to get it back.

As I approached the S/F I thought about @umop3pisdn riding for 12 hours, canvassing for an 'unelectable' party on polling day, and the fact that I'd not got up at 6 for nothing, and carried on. Ended up with 1:05:09 which is actually my second best 25 time out of four. So not that enjoyable but could have been a lot worse and I'm quite pleased that I carried on.

  • What course was that on? Some nice spoco courses around there.
    Good work.

  • Cheers. It was on E83/25B in the end, their third choice, after roadworks hampered the E9 and E11 courses they wanted to do.

  • Nice road there, better then the E9 anyway, that road is grim.
