  • ..... I've done better on my road bike. :(

Really? Do tell.. and what course?

  • Really? Do tell.. and what course?

No, not better than you. I've done better on my road bike compared to my new fangled TT bike.

That's why I'm :( New bike and nothing to show for it due to lack of training, injury, .

  • Oh.. The big bag of excuses is a good thing to have Hippy.. SO far this season mines come into very good used.

I've got a lot of time for the PX Stealth. @JAMIE has one as does Mrs Brave. I Road Race on a PX pro light (all beit with Zipp 404's).. The amount of snobbery I get on road races is amazing.. Until I dance away from the ColnagoCerveloLookScottTime riding cunts that is

  • I didn't want to spend big £££ on a TT bike since I don't take it too seriously but was tired of riding on drops for events.

  • Not sure about your tyre choice though.

    Conti tris? Good tyre..

That's Brave off hippy's Christmas card list.

  • That's why I'm :( New bike and nothing to show for it due to lack of training, injury, being fat, posting to get to 40,000, drinking lots of things you wouldn't put in a bike bottle.

    Done that for you.

  • There is that. Two trips to Oz, buying a house, shit winter, cancelling all rides for 2010 only to realise I had more money left over than I thought I would. Let's just say I'm going to peak later this year.. ;)

  • Early days... Early days ;-)

  • Early days... Early days ;-)

That's what I keep telling myself. I'm dead slow so far this year, but I have until October to find some speed.

  • Exactly

  • Hippy - get some wheel covers...

  • Yeah, I looked into those. Tried to grab a set off the TT forum.

Will just have to find a way to put Powertap through as business expense. ;0)

  • Did my first '25' of the year on sunday, it was a long course but I am delighted with my sub 3:40:00 time. Sorry Hippy, no Powertap data available. :-)

  • I'm doing a short triathlon on Monday, not done any TTing before but got a set of clip on bars that I've not had time to use yet. Whats the general rule of getting them set up? Is it saddle forward, bars down try and get your back flat with elbows at right angles? Might have to set them up on the turbo tonight looking at the mirror.

was this a 25 mile TT fast eddy?

    I hope you mean 100..

If it's on Monday and you've not yet ridden them I'd not bother to be honest.
You'll probably be faster without as they take a bit of getting used to.

For triathlon it's not all about a flat back as out and out TT, daccordi. It's about being comfortable and your upper body weight being supported. Saddle forward yes. Arms at right angles, yes. My advice is to set up in the turbo and then tinker.. It has to be a balance of comfort and aero. You don't wan to get off the bike and not be able to run the 10k (5k) because you're a crippled hunchback

  • Cheers, I'll set them up tonight and have a tinker with the position. I suspected I might be slower with them to start with but treating this race as a training exercise so not too bothered, got an olympic one in a month or so so want to get the position OK by then.

  • If it's a 'training race' then sure fit them (I rode 40k out to a 10mi earlier this year never having used aerobars :)). Do you have a mirror or partner or tripod willing to help film you? You can get a reasonable idea of your position with a side-on shot and of course how you feel riding on the turbo. Elbows in line with knees. 90 deg angles in arms and hips. I had Scherrit @ Bike Whisperer do a TT fit for me after a while too.

  • Mrs Brave and I are getting fitted at Velomotion weekend after next. We've been doing tri and TT for about 9 years and still tinkering with bike postion.

  • As you should. Different levels of training, different amounts of stretching, experimenting, injury, age, kit change, etc are all potential reasons for a position adjustment.

  • @Hippy

Anymore of those Great Missenden TT's coming up?

  • I'm doing one on Sunday on that shit HCC114 course. It's an open and entries closed last week though. Do you have the handbook? If not, I could have a look at the westie stuff for you. Or..
