The Windmill on Mill Street, W1 has great pies. They are all about pies - they have some institute of pies or something like that carrying the flag for british pies. Gimmicky but bloody good all the same.

After a nasty experience with a pie in Wigan, I have avoided pies at any gound other than Norwich and Stamford Bridge. The pies at the latter are bland but trustworthy. I would normally avoid pies other than gourmet ones but they are easy to eat at football.
I should know not to trust a Merseyside steward (or any steward for that matter). While waiting to get into Goodison a few years ago, I asked a steward what the Everton sponsor made or did. She had no idea which I ofund strange. Samsung (btw) make electricals including our new television). What is scouse then? Something with onions isn't it?
I would sometimes have a coffee there while said friend (who eats junk food as though it is normal) scoffed a burger. A very odd place.
No nor do I propose to start now.
You know how to treat a lady. If coming to a football match with me, Mrs O insists on a poncy restaurant on the Kings Road.

Just got back from Morrison's where my search for vegetarian pies was fruitless. So it's quiche (or "Poofter's Pie" as it's known in Wigan) for me this lunchtime. The side dish of Organic beetroot probably doesn't do much for my northern credentials either.

Isn't quiche better known as "flan"?
An apple pie is both vegetarian and fruitful.

Isnt a quiche a frittata?

Don't go Balki. We need some objectivity and sanity to counterbalance WiganWill.

There is a Butcher next to Barons Court tube station, cant remember the name but they have won Family Butcher of The Year several times, and they do amazing pies.
The Pie Man in Chelsea Green off the kings road does great pies too.
Butcher and Grill on Parkgate Road in Batersea do great pies - also the Butchers is open as long as the restaurant, so if you ever get late night mucnchies an fancy a nice cut of meat its worth a look.
Parsons Nose Butcher on the Fulham road near Parsons Green station does a great pie too.
As far as supermarket pies go, Waitrose do Binghams Stake and Ale pie, which is the best OTP Pie i have sampled to date

Hmmm... well..... only if you explain the pun. I still dont get it.
You know that feeling you get when you're walking down the street and you hear people laughing and you wonder if they are laughing at you and maybe you've got your fly open or some toliet paper hanging out of your belt or you sat in something or something like that... well thats how I feel now.

Hippy Greggs serve "Slices" not "pies" you ludite.
Slices have no place on this earth other than to allow those not man enough for a pie to taste the savoury pastry goodnessWhich part of "bakery" and "it wasn't specifically a pie issue" did you not understand?
Greggs serve SHIT. That's the end of matters.
Think otherwise and it just reinforces my belief that the English are born without taste buds :P

Sam is right - Emily does make the best pies!
I like the pies at the Newman Arms. I think the pies at Manzes are absolutely horrid. And that pie and mash place under the bridge at Camden Road tube station. Eugh! I would rather eat poo -

Sherperds Pies in Broadway Market are quite nice. He does a lovely chilli and a steak and cheese, and neither have onions in.
Proper meat pies don't have onions in them.
