  • That reminds me, I went to the lavatory in Starbucks by Ealing Broadway tube, tiny ziplock bag was left on the lavatory roll holder, white powder in the bottom.

Clearly coffee is not enough for the residents of Ealing.

  • No, not it's not.

It's not mine though.. Starbucks.. as if. You know there is an awesome cafe about 100m away from that chain store horror.

  • No, I had no idea, I've been to Ealing a handful of times.

Will check that place out next time.

  • I think those new DA cranks look alright actually. Better than the 7900 ones anyway..

  • I like it too.

The new shifter look interesting, hopefully it'll be more comfortable than the current one.

  • Tops of the hoods still look too fat for munchkin handed cyclists.

Compare that to some Campag SR levers.

  • ^^^ I also think they're an improvement on 7900s.

  • I want campag but I don't want to change the rear wheel just to accept campag cassette.

    edit - forget about those.

  • You'd still be stuck with a 10 campagnolo group.

what hub is it? Can't you just change the freehub?

What's wrong with that? A lot more compatible parts than 11 spd available

You cant run any of the top 4 campagnolo groupsets is all.

    • I'm actually staring to appreciate the extra sprocket. But then I have a 11-25.

Actually. Maybe you could, if your limiting screws are properly set-up. You'd just get a impotent last click, with no shift.

Messy way to set-up a high end groupset though.

I imagine this is a non-issue for 99% of people

    Possibly.

Athena is 11 speed, and only slightly more expensive than 105, or Rival. I tend to consider these groups as the entry level of top flight groupsets.

  • Meh - no choice of chains or cassettes..

Campag is already proprietary enough without cutting yourself off from affordable cassettes etc. Personally, I only really want to run one system across all my bikes and until 11 speed trickles down to Veloce etc then I'll be happy* with 10 spd Record and Veloce.

    • edit: when I say happy - I mean that I will (of course) continue to moan ad nauseam about it on internet forums whenever a part fails :)
  • In a very roundabout way that's why I am thinking of putting Ui2 on my bike.

  • that is some very roundabout thinking.
At least all your chains / cassettes are compatible..

  • Exactly- that can only save me money.

I cannot actually do it though, as the cassette I have is too large.

Although I suppose I could get that converter cage that they use when putting Di2 on MTB's.

Thought of that - Shimano Deore hubs.

    You have a point.
Athena does seem a little highbrow for a training bike TBH.

Not really something I'd think about, as the drive chains on my bikes are wildly different anyway.

    should've gone Ambrosio! :)

    How big is it?

  • 11-32
