Cheap campagnolo groups are meh, cheap for a reason. Record up are great.

To be fair - Chorus is pretty lovely. Not worth the money though.

I've got Dura Ace Di2 on one bike, Ultegra Di2 on another, I still can't afford Campag.
Pff priorities..

I'll go for a single speed...

never tried sram. Just not sure about the double tap but I will take in consideration. I am not going back to Shimano. It is like (to me) buying a really good sport Japanese car: the style is always going to be awful! And we all care about the style
is it possible to change more then one gear with SRAM? (I was noticing that Athena and Forse 22 are similar in price)
So the poor man goes to the bikeshop where he decides between these two groups. Rode Athena and Super Record recently. They are both clunky but I believe Athena has no multi shift? Which leaves Force.

In answer to your Q on the other forum, when I last looked trade was basically the same price as Ribble for most groups.

What does trade mean?
-
• #2559
trade price is what the shop paid for the product.
retail price is what the shop sell it for.

Thanks
In light of that i still dont get your comment dammit. What does knowing trade do for me? :)

Is the poor man you or me? :P
So you suggest Force

Get a used campy record 10 group. Holds it value better than all other groups and will last longer too. Just get a new chain cassette and you wont find better value for money imo.

^^ I've got Force on two bikes. I like it. It's light, reasonably affordable (all things being relative), the brakes are excellent (much better than stock Shimano) and I find the shifting's reliable. Mind you, with uprated pads Shimano Ultegra's just as good, if a bit ugly, and I really can't fault the Campag Veloce on the winter bike, even if it is bloody heavy and a pain to install.

I'm having a sense of deja vu here...

Thanks, that could be something to do to. But I want to spoil myself and by everything new, except the saddle that I am keeping from my previous bike (not as expensive as I would like)

Sorry to bother with this question, do you know the real weight of it?

Fuck buying 2nd hand Record 10.. it's very nice (i loved mine) but if you break a rear mech they still retail for £250 new FFS

That Ribble is cheap.
It worked out cheaper for me to buy retail than it did trade- by ~£3, but still.
