  • shit 5 stitches!!! didn't look that bad. heal up soon. maybe our team should have a new name as we both got stitches from mallets in the same place.

  • Shit. Sorry dude.

Don't sweat it, Tom. Not your fault.

Fuck, I honestly didn't think they'd stitch it.

Yea, it's only to minimize the scar. Tiny dissolvable stitches that are only staying in 3 days, nothing major.

  • So back on topic, I just got this email:

    Oi Mike,

I'm workin' on a batch of 100 something HDPE heads as I type this note. Is London interested in another group order?

Same size options as the ABS, but longer wearing! I'll report on the weights in the next week or so, afer all the final drilling operations are done.

    (50mm) 2" X 5.5" 2 caps
    (50mm) 2" X 6" 2 caps
    (60mm) 2 3/8" X 5.5" 2 caps
    (60mm) 2 3/8" X 6" 2 caps
    (60mm) 2 3/8" X 5.5" 1 cap
    (60mm) 2 3/8" X 6" 1 cap

    -Lucky

    Check them out here.

  • 1) Gabes: These drilling template is sweet. But i agree with Todd that maybe holes aren't necessary on the ABS shaft. We'll see.

    2) Mike: Shit dude!

    3) Lucky heads with HDPE? We'll have to see. I tend to like the lightness and feel of ABS much more than PE. But Lucky makes a damn good mallet. Maybe drilled it will be sweet and last like 10 times longer than ABS?

    4) Bike polo.

  • Mike, do you know if Lucky is still doing the old heads we ordered before? The HDPE ones appear to be only 60mm dia. which is the BIG pipe - interesting to see the weight of these.

  • i'll be in on a Lucky order. Like the look of the new ones he's done

  • Lucky order: I want 3 this time. Capped both ends.

He's doing the same as last time. 50mm and 60mm OD. No word on weights yet but they can be massively drilled out:

  • ace. I'd definetely take a couple, sooner the better too.

  • How much are these ?

and I drilled too much out of my mallet?!?! As soon as the caps are a bit worn, they will fall out of the red shit i reckon.

the caps are not 'in' the pipe, they are bonded to the pipe - see his description

Answered my own question, $15 each which is about £9.50.

Is there a discount for group purchases?

  • No it only saves in postage. The last ones worked out to £15 a piece.

They're fused? I think on a molecular level it's one piece of plastic...

The magic here is that the two are fused together. They are, molecularly, the same piece of plastic. It's the same technology and equipment as the gas company uses. My hope is that if it can stand up to gas or liquid at pressure, it can hold up to polo. We'll see. A few prototype models will be sent out to test markets while I work out the kinks in the manufacturing process and use their feedback to make improvements

Don't forget to factor in postage & customs.

  • refresh fail.

  • I'd like to get a few of these lucky mallets. Is anyone taking ownership and collecting details for an order?

  • i still have one of lucky's earlier heads (the black and white one), the smaller diameter, double-capped one. i'm not using, anyone want it?

  • I'd like to get a few of these lucky mallets. Is anyone taking ownership and collecting details for an order?

    Yep.

We should start a list famous list:

    Mike - 1x60mm 5.5" single cap
    Buffalo Bill - 3x60mm 5.5"double cap
    Otters - ?x50mm 5.5" double cap (I think that's what you're using)

  • Lucky Heads:

    Mike - 1x60mm single cap
Buffalo Bill - 3x60mm double cap
    otters - 2 x (2" X 5.5") both with 2 caps

Hassan if you wnat I can swap it for one head of the new pipe, Gabes order

  • Not a great swap unless it's with caps though.

  • sure thing, worth a try, i'll chuck it in my bag for whenever i'm playing next

  • oh yeah. any spares caps todd?
