  • I went for a run (on the only hill in the Fens, doh) wearing my brother's fluro running top as he insisted I was failing to appreciate how dark it would get. He was right, it was a real gloomfest without london's light pollution. People are super friendly too, got waves from almost every driver! I know these are all massive clichés but I had the most enjoyable run I've had in a long time, despite the cold and dark and occasional throwing myself into ditches as paths are a relative novelty in this part of the world.

  • As are e.g. Running water, aeroplanes, indoor lavatories etc?

  • Nonsense, my parents house has had mains drainage for a decade now. Modernity!!

  • ^^^ Apparently I have to spread it around a bit more - although tempted to nerg for the 'long run' pun. Great news though!

  • came 69th from 217 today, beautiful day in the forest, super turn out for it with elites and kids and oldies all out, quality bout 10k run

  • Coming to get you Hatbeard

today was a rest day... 6 miles tomorrow before heading off to essex :P

  • 11 miles today jogging/crawling around the southwest coast path has taken me to 32.9 miles, I ran straight into the sea up to my waist for an instant ice bath!

It's left me frustratingly short of 33 miles in three runs, tomorrow will be Port Isaac to Tintagel and back circa 18 miles, which should get me to 50 miles for the week, i love running in the slushy mud around here!

  • Dead on 29mi for me. will tick over to 33 tomorrow.

  • I'm on a much more modest 19, it's interesting funding the time when doing the Festive 500 at the same time.

  • Excuses >>>>>>>>>>

  • Ner ner in ner ner

  • holy shit just remembered as I was running today I saw someone go past on one of these...

paired with his glorious nodders outfit I couldn't help but feel like I'd met the king of bikeradar.

I smiled at him as he went past and got a sneer in return, he was possibly feeling a little self conscious perhaps.

    Artists Rendition:

  • My run not the description of what bruce is wearing.

Picture me like one of your French girls.

  • On the plus side I now have all the CRs for the route I did!

  • 33.1 Miles.

    Challenge... completed.

  • 3 miles to go.

  • I had an amazing time running in waterlogged fields near my parents until I twisted my ankle quite badly. I was miles from home, and in a field with no phone reception, so had to limp all the way home. My dad - who gets very worried about me - caught me trying to sneak into the house and I was made to sit on the sofa with a bag of frozen peas on my ankle while my dad brought me endless cups of tea and biscuits. Could have worked out worse I guess.

  • :( Hope it wasn't too bad?

  • Also, I'd like to re-afirm how ace waterproof socks are. Wore them over some thin liners on boxing day. Not a single fuck was given about puddles

  • ^ Well I can't put weight on it and it's a bit swollen but I'm going to keep icing and hope that it improves. Serves me right for trying to run down a muddy slope. Next time I'll stick to flat mud.

  • I just ran along the Itchen until the mud got too deep, then ran back again.

I suspect that I must have looked like a man running through scattered mousetraps as I tried to avoid the puddles- but almost coincidentally set my best time for 10 miles.

  • Yeah, keep icing and gentle movement. I can now walk ok on my knee but stairs and slopes are an issue still.

Ended up going for a long walk yesterday, and slightly cheated to get over the line but ran to Tintagel and back this morning, 17.5 miles, 1456m climbed at a relatively leisurely pace, but given the whole think was fuelled by a snickers and a mars drink I'm not to unhappy with doing it in 4 hours!

  • 11.4 k done at South London OK Nuts race over Hankley common on a divine day.
    Lovely

  • Woot finally went for a run after meaning to for pretty much every day for the last week! Felt really weak and lame even though the gap between this run and the last one was the same as ever other time... The three Christmas dinners probably didn't help.
