Does anyone have any recommendations for physios in East London (near to E10/E11 ideally)? I'm about to start rehab on my ankle. Photo for reference....

^ oooof looks like that was serious @doubleodavey
Just ran a 3hr long run at around 8 min per mile pace, still felt I had a bit at the end, so bang in the sweet spot for a 3.30 marathon in a month's time. Concerned about blowing up in the last few miles even still.

Anyone use salt tablets?
I've recently started to use these when racing or long training runs and think they do help and I seem to have more energy/stamina and seem to recover easier

Never tried salt tablets but I used to use electrolyte drinks (High-5 usually) for long runs.
Most of the time a single 500ml hand bottle and some gels were enough (up to ~28k or so), but for the final pre-marathon 35km training run (3 laps of Richmond Park on the Tamsin trail) I used a locked up bike as a base and would top up the hand bottle after each lap, plus grab a gel or two, from a cache left in the bike panniers.

Have the MRI knee scan images, but the actual report goes to the consultant who’s now away until mid next week.
Tried a bit of self diagnosis between eyeballing the images and googling. Pretty sure I have Synovial chondromatosis. No, actually, it’s Osgood-Schlatter syndrome… Wait - that dark bit. Got to be isolated ganglions of the anterior cruciate ligament…
There must be some AI service where I can load up mri images and get a report back. Can’t face waiting another week for the big reveal (“you’re a hypochondriac” most likely)

£130 notes for tights?
Why are these so good?
Do all tights get saggy after 2 months anyhow?

basically Rapha arguments (and ex Rapha involved with Tracksmith)
Good tights + good branding -

I do think that well constructed and thought out specific gear is a good investment (see PTJ or a Gabba) - I have heard mixed reports on the quality of Tracksmith stuff but some of their essentials products seem to get consistently good reports. Next time I’m in America I’ll pick up some stuff

Old Skins stuff before they went out of business and got sold off was amazing. Lasted forever and held you together so well.

They have a physical retail space (a shop) opening in London in April.

5 weeks tomorrow since last proper run, 4 weeks tomorrow since a slow recovery 10km, suffering with shin splints ever since. Been in and out of physio, lots of calf strengthening, run assessment and proper shoes bought. Tried a couple of easier 5km over the past 4 weeks, last one coming on 2 weeks ago and left me in pain for the first half of the week so opted to do zero running til I felt better. Have physio in half an hour but for the first time I can jog on the spot with zero pain.
So….
Going to attempt an easy run tomorrow, but is it a daft idea to go straight into a 5k?
Fitness is fine as I’ve keep up swim and bike while not running.

Yes
Ask physio, but something like a run walk for a start.
30s run 30s walk x 5
2 mins rest
Repeat twice
FinishedIt will feel like a waste of time, but the point is to do a tiny bit of running with lots of gaps so you can feel how your body is taking it. And stop if anything feels unhappy
Increase this over a couple of weeks
Just IMO but an opinion formed through years of stop/start and reoccurring injuries!

Might also be worth starting with a mix of treadmill/eliptical to ease back in

First week for 18 months that I've done 3 x 5k runs. Horribly slow still, due to being excessively lardy, but times starting to come down and the runs themselves are not feeling as tough.

I'm starting physio this week for my ankle injury. I tried a Strava workout last weekend - calorie crusher, and chucked it in after 10 minutes, thinking I was going to die.
I tried a different one this week, but the computer i was using crashed, and Zwift bombed out - that was 15 minutes or so.
I did it again today - 30 mins - and managed to finish it. Still felt like dying at the end - might need to adjust my FTP downwards a bit.
I also did half of Barking parkrun on crutches last week. I got a lift there, averaged 13:28 per mile, overtook 5 people, and stopped at the end of lap 1 so as not to delay my deliverer / taker home.
The moral - avoid fracturing and dislocating anything if you can. It's not much fun. Trying to get fit again and lose a stone is also going to be tricky seeing as I am the wrong side of 40 and genuinely can't be bothered

Trying to get fit again (mostly caused by apathy but I did have a mild ankle fracture 3 and a bit years ago). Nearer 50 than 40. 4 stone to lose.
It's nice(r) once you get past the initial hideous hump.

It’s new trainer time. I’ve got some short race(s) coming up. Do I get some cheat shoes? Yanno like vaporfly or something..what’s good but not a £squillion ?

I've been out a few times in the twilight drizzle recently, and thought about how I'd much rather be running in it than doing anything else. That will pass.
I got some high res images of my modifications

Yeah I saw those but fuck decathlon
Trying to minimise the child slavery in my life…difficult with running shoes I know
thnx, also @TW - was working on lower leg strength already and will look into these exercises. A very gentle 4k run yesterday was ok, tho def not back to normal. I want to make sure i’m not compensating for this in a way which will mess things down the line.
