fairly quick but not a squillion quid could be Tempo Next %
£90 in Nike sale atmbouncy quick, and squeaky enough to remind anyone who forgets that you're wearing posh shoes, but not full on carbon plate quick

Fwiw I hated the tempo next % - felt like 4 bits of shoe stuck together. Sample size of one though but for me I think the vaporfly is the best vfm Nike race trainer

Ha! My left leg had had 8 weeks of hop training at home. Need to do the right leg at some point

To prove the opposite and sample sizes of 1 are about as useful as a chocolate teapot, I got about 150km out of each of the 2 pairs of vaporflys I’ve had whereas I’ve been closer to 500 in most pairs of alphas, even the ones I did endure 24 in which was mostly gravel which isn’t their natural home…

That’s such a small amount that I’d have been returning them. I had two pairs fail after that kind of distance and took them in for a replacement.

Some pretty unpleasant chaffing on today's exe to axe, and recommdations for running boxers?

Runderwear
-
• #29011
No personal experience but you would assume that runderwear should be a place to start.
Edit: what duncs said

Decathlon do some lycra boxers which have seen me right for years. Much cheaper than runderwear. I haven't tried any others so can't compare though.

Southampton marathon today did not go to plan at all. Second half just became a death march. Disappointed not to have the run I know I could have but also recognise I've not had the best prep with a lot going on the past six weeks. Really thought I was in PB shape but just didn't go my way at all.

We've all been there. Some days it just doesn't happen for whatever reason. Enter another and try again.
Better still, enter a trail marathon and actually enjoy it!

Next race is King Alfred's Way in August which will be a different kind of enjoyable.

Just looked this up. Woah.
Let me guess, you’re doing the full 350 km route?

I use https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/men-s-running-breathable-tight-shorts-dry-black/_/R-p-145824?mc=8381931&c=BLACK as undershorts for running and 5-a-side.
(Not bold enough to wear them as running shorts alone...)

Physio suggested a straight up 5k run at a relatively easy pace and listen to the body.
5km at 5:30m/km Saturday, and zero pain during/after, at last! Will do same again Wednesday and Saturday, and look to start building volume in small increments next week.
Have to do some calf/hamstring/core s&c twice a week from now on to prevent it happening again.

That’s great - too much too soon is just massively common though, especially with cyclists where aerobic fitness >> tendon and ligament toughness!

Bit of a north Cornwall coastal path
rumrun this morning - 36k with 1500 up and 1500 down.I'm not winning any prizes, other than a participation medal, but I'm a bit broken.
I had planned on turning round and running back too, but my pace had been slacking right off in the past couple of km, and it would be 3 hours to the next phone reception, which felt like a bit too much.
11°c and sunny though. It has been glorious.

coastal path rum
Sounds tasty.

Yep. In the Spine race this winter Damian Hall completed (won) with only 2hours 20mins sleep so that's my pro race sleep schedule sorted ;)

Would be surprised if not! Nice one.

Selling some worn once Vapourfly 2s if anyone is looking for new race shoes https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/385342/#comment16930980
I’d go for vaporflys - I got 750km out of the last pair so think they’re a good mix
