the difference in rake across the range of steering caused the crown height to drop at large steering anges meaning gravity caused the fork jack-knife to a bit too easily
ftfy, it's not as simple as changing the head angle.

Sorry if this is totally off topic but any of you guys running NS Fundamental forks?
Seem pretty cheap and I know they are mtb fork so might be pretty heavy but can't be too bad eh?
A2C is 435mm, will this make steering really slack on a large Pomp?

Dont... Speaking frome experience, used to run something like that.

Well, some detail would be constructive.

I used to run Onza Tuff Guys or something on a Scissor and it wasn't too bad but having sold them and the Scissor I have no idea what the A2C was.

The details went with the bike when it was nicked so can't provide the head tube angle, rake on the forks, trail etc. if that's what you are looking for.

Where did you get them Tuff Guys from? Need one (or even a couple) for an upcoming project

Got the Onzas off ebay but the seller I got them from seems to have disappeared n they are all pretty expensive now.

Actually. looking at Identit FFXs on CRC and their A2C is 393mm so 435 is gonna be pretty slack isn't it?
-

Speak to Ryan of Oakcycles, he will be able to give you more info on how a polo bike should be.

Not quite, but details of what you found so bad about them would be more useful than "bad forks are bad".

Quit arguing and do some fucking googling. NS Fundamental - A2C 435mm, rake 30mm. Use bike cad/illustrator to work out the different geo. Sorted. Trail will be different from bike to bike, different tyres cause different rake.

Or ask on a forum full of people who have this type of kit if anyone has experience of it.
-

Hi mechanical vandal, I would definitely recommend the identiti ffx forks (the 30mm rake ones) for a pompino.
The only problem is you cannot use clamp on v-brake mounts, so you would need to get some welded on, or use a booster plate thingy, if you want a front v-brake. -

does anyone know what the deal is with these new push fit external BB's what size do the push fit into, Euro or Spanish? basically want to fit hollowtech cranks to my Spanish BB frame
-
• #7019
Wiki says 41.96mm OD for press fit BB30 (looks about right from the BB on the road bike) , but it wouldn't work on a Spanish BB even if it was the right size as it's not threaded.
Hang on, aren't Spanish BB's press fit? If my googling is correct they have a 37mm bearing. Can you measure your BB shell to confirm?
-
• #7020
no a spanish BB isnt threaded either, are you thinking of italian?
Spanish and Mid are both press fit BB's with no thread, i guess i just nee to find out the OD of a spanish BB
-
• #7021
Yeah, these guy's are saying 37mm dia http://www.bmxboard.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/028660.html
I'll have a look in my bearing catalogue if there's anything to match the Hollowtech axle in that size.
-
• #7022
ah ok, so a BB90 press fit should fit in a Spanish frame and take hollowtech cranks... maybe
-
• #7023
Looks like it, the bearing used is one of these - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ceramic-Bearing-24mm-37mm-7mm-Si3N4-Stainless-Abec-7-/130413048798
But it might be easier to just buy the BB90 and fit it without the tube in the middle. -

the lockring on my BB thread snapped off on sunday. thread is still in place however. time for a new bike me thinks.

Yo Ande, the other thing to be mindful of is the fact that the stated geometry may not actually be correct. Having measured it, my pompetamine is a full degree slacker than stated (this is using the stock pompetamine forks). And i've found a lot of manufacturers bikes to have their geometry way off the stated values - but then i'm a nerd who likes to measure things.
My pompetamine measures at 71.5degrees HTA with 400mm forks. This means that using the 435mm a-c ones will slacken off your headtube nearly another 2 degrees.
Dinnae do it. If you want geo advice give me a buzz on one of them there scottish forums.
Can also braze on v-brake mounts at cost if you're wanting.
Rasist.
