Roughly how much to put track dropouts on a bike?
Why bother?
-
• #4255
Tension.
-
• #4256
It's already got forward-facing sloping dropouts that are about a mile long.
-
• #4257
Pretty sure it would be way too big for you Wicksie.

Fwd facing dropouts are a ball ache.
Its a 19.5". I'm not that short.

NO they're not! they're awesome, mudguards are easier to deal with, you can run gears if you want!
don't listen to the hipsters on fgss, track ends are not the be all and all

It's easier to flip your wheel too, no need to flick the chain off the chainring before wheel removal.
-
• #4263
I fucking hate that, when you have to flick the chain off before wheel removal. It's like, what the fuck, why the fuck do I have to flick the fucking chain off.

i really can't work out if that is sarcasm or not?..
-
• #4265
I'm serious, it's that one more thing you have to do. The straw that breaks the camels back. I've had it with this biking shit. Fucking track ends have fucked this up for me. That's it. I'm done. Spoons out.

Anyone got any recommendations for a 24t crankset that'll go onto a shimano square tapered b/b.
-
• #4270
Doesnt really have to be a single crankset. An MTB one with an inner ring, where you can take the other chainrings off, that would be ok.
-
• #4271
The Onza should work OK...
-
• #4272
You using yours yet?
Any chance I could take a look at it / try it on for size before buying my own one? You're living somewhere around Brixtown, right?
-
• #4273
I'm gonna be using Deore.

So, I've managed to bend my DAMP forks in Karlsruhe. Damn. No longer rides straight with no hands and you can visually see one leg veering away from the other.
Anyone got anything 32mm rake and 405 A-C? long shot but anything close would be considered.
The identiti ffx forks are an option at 30mm rake and 425 A-C, how would that change the handling? Would I even notice?
Still need info on what length BB I need to run those Onza cranks on a Pompino... Any clue?
I've found a cheapish 115mm JIS for sale, wondering whether that'll do the trick... Help me, people...
