Go clipless.
-
• #4232
You mean like SPDs? No way. I want to be less connected to the bike.
-
• #4233
It's hard to be certain, but I'd guess 28x17, not that spinny, just below 40gi.
-
• #4234
Why? clipless is great because you can clip out so quick

Does anyone make mallets out of golf clubs these days?
It looks like one of my neighbours is throwing a bunch of clubs out. I'll snag them if anyone wants them.
I still use golf clubs. Dunlop woods are usually long enough, have a solid steel shaft (still playing with mine after 2 years), are super light and give a nice whip.
To fix a head you need to punch them, then drill them with decent bits in ascending sizes from 3 - 5mm. I fix mine with a 5m bolt, no problems.

Who's running Onza T-Bird cranks? Is it an ISO or JIS taper? What length BB you running on your Pomp, Margs?
Just got some off Otters and was gonna chuck 'em straight onto a Campag Centaur 111mm BB on my Pomp... Bumped into Ryan and told him what I was gonna do, he pulled a funny face... :S
Thoughts?

Who's running Onza T-Bird cranks? Is it an ISO or JIS taper?
Can you explain this a bit please, I didnt know there was any difference in a square tapered bb. Which is more common?
-
• #4245
Many tapers on BB's. Square Taper more common.
-
• #4246
It's basically Campag vs Shimano, Kev (except for Japanes track stuff, which is ISO standard).
-
• #4247
When I last asked Sheldon, he said you can mix them, but the taper difference means you'll put the chain line out slightly (which I suppose could be used to help a bad chainline sometimes).
I had chorus cranks running on a Shimano BB for ages with zero problems.

Rad cockpit max.
They're really light in fact, the difficulty you have is securing the head. A few have tried a bolt through the bottom but struggled to stop the head from spinning. Pawl had a small piece of MG welded to his but it then snapped at the weld. As they're skinny it's difficult to find anything strong enough to attach the head. You could drill and tap the bottom for possibly an M5 or M6. I've not tried using one yet so I only know what others have tried.
Also if you drop the mallet then running over it makes no difference, unlike the ski poles.
