  • hey wicksie, what about these

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BANKRUPT-26-1-THREADED-RIGID-BIKE-FORKS-OK-700c-/380300190179?pt=UK_sportsleisure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&hash=item588ba861e3#ht_1500wt_916

cant really make out rake from picture but they look pretty straight. but no v brake bosses

I have 700c wheels and need bosses.
Also, 24tpi which is propriety threading I think.

  • Picked up a White Industries 22t freewheel from PUSH yesterday... sweet as! LHBPA discount applied too. Can't beat a deal like that.

I know they got at least two others in the shop.

i just destroyed my WI freewheel, it just fell apart while i was riding!

  • i just destroyed my WI freewheel, it just fell apart while i was riding!

For those £££ (or $$$) please say you get a guarantee?!

  • You do... send it to them, they'll probably send you an apology and a new one.

More importantly: How'd it fall apart?

  • I just bought some lasers and wheel spikes for the Pompino... Look out 2011...

    Merry Christmas, kidz...

Re: WI freewheels... I sold a brand new one on to my ex-flatmate and he destroyed it in less than 18 months (just commuting on it)... Had to replace the sprocket and the internal gubbins... Once he'd paid for the removal tool and shipping it came to way more than the price of a new one shipped from the US... He didn't get offered a new one... Jus' puttin' it out there...

  • The trooth about WI comes out.

I want my money back, Max.

  • Have a little niggle. Running a 107mm BB with 170 Sugino GT cranks on my Pomp and the non drive crank is scrapping the chainstay. Anyone got simillar prob?

  • I'm running a 111mm BB with no problem but my cranks have probably got a much wider tread than yours...

  • That's my thought, get the cranks replaced. More of just brushing the rearstay and taking some paint off but might go 110 and see what happens. You planning some polo tomorrow Joe?

  • I'll be eating and drinking tomorrow... ;]

  • max's white industries freewheel fucked up yesterday.

bearings popped out or something and cog slid off meaning couldnt engage.

    #10 LBM

  • ^ Ha! Nice ninja edit...

Verdict = Run a smaller chainring so you can run a smaller, cheaper disposable freewheel...

  • werd. that's what I do.

28t chainring, 18t shimano freewheel, you can pick one up anywhere.

  • Trials freewheel? Flatmate's been running one for a year and a half, albeit not on a polo bike.

    and THAT click. mmmmmm

  • i like the silent shimano so i can sneak up on people

  • max, that sucks.

I just rebuilt my WI freewheel on Saturday with new outer gear (@trade) and was pleasantly surprised how easy it was. bonus is I am now on a lower gear.

I was gonna order a new red lockring as mine is a bit mash-up, perhaps you need one too?!
I think there is a minimum order for us to get WI stuff, check with Hassan.
Still got the three springs and pawls?

I had to use the vice + wood+ the old teeth to press the body back together and flush before tightening the lockring. you can probably machine something though...

    Snoop-Turn?

    Sexy polo surprise?

  • Is there anyway to fit 2 chainrings and an E13 bash on hollowtec cranks? Triple bolts aren't long enough and I'd need to space the large ring somehow.

  • my E13 came with extra long bolts....

  • Ah, so you can get longer than triple bolts? Got mine 2nd hand.
    Cheers Rik.

  • Yep you can get extra long bashguard bolts, like Rik mine came with my guard.

Do you want to use the inner and the middle spaces for rings and the bashguard on the outer space? Or are you trying to use similar sized chainrings on the outer and middle spaces then have the bashguard as well?

  • Its cheaper to get extensions than new longer bolts from E13, i got some from SJS to fit my bashguard, i think they were for tandems, you put a outer bolt in each end:

    http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/thorn-thorn-chainring-bolt-sleeve-pack-of-5-prod11987/

  • Ah cool, cheers. Still not that cheap though, especially since I'm not sure my drop outs are long enough.
I'm trying to see if I can get my 24t on the inner and a 32t inside the outer with the bash on the outside.
Long shot but I'd really like a road gear.

  • If you flip your wheel as well you don't need long drop outs.

For example 32x13 (close to 70gi) is almost exactly the same amount of chain as 24x19... Admittedly the latter ratio is probably too spinny for polo, 24x17 is more realistic, and you wouldn't need that big a drop out for 2teeth difference. If you could go for a 26 instead of 24 it would prob be even better.

I used to run 42x16 and 36x26... But stopped after chainsawing dt's leg.

(nb, just using number of teeth is a simplification, but like Most simplifications, works in real life)
