Oh what?! Are they actually straight, from steerer to dropout, or just straight but angled forward at the crown?
-
• #4004
dont worry about the weight, for polo either way it will be ok.
ask for a pic by the side to check how much rake they have. -

They're straight as in they don't have a curve in them but not straight as in 0°rake.

You can see the rake from the shadow of the steerer.

Anyone used these forks before?
Bontrager SPA 700c straight forks with V–Brake bosses. Looks like they are made for hybrid bikes. One auction says they are 1756g, another says they are 1310g... There are a bunch of them on eBay for £39.99.
Ok so it looks like they are the forks from this bike this bike. It says they have 'integrated suspension' which I presume is all the guff up by the crown of the forks. I assume that would be removable?
-
• #4008
yes, it will be removable, but, I dont think you can pass the headset down, if not how you get now tension for it?
I think what ever you do with them the headset will be in the same place it is now, so it will fuck the geo -

Thanks Rik, you're most likely right. When I've asked the seller questions before (Axle to Crown, Rake etc), they took so long to reply that the auction had ended already. Probs worth letting these go...

Sorry dude. -
• #4014
aha sure thing! ;)
-
• #4016
That is going to be one pricey frame. The couplers alone, before a torch has been lit, are several hundred dollars.
-
• #4017
Wicksie, are these forks any good to you? 1" steerer 700c with V-brakes ... £26.99 incl. delivery
-
• #4018
Cheers Otters, already asked. Apparently they have a fair sized rake. :(
-
• #4019

cant really make out rake from picture but they look pretty straight. but no v brake bosses

agree Bill, but not having to pay for a bike in internal flies in the USA pays for the couples
-
• #4021
It's bloody lovely tho', isn't it?

yep, I think the cost of couplers + fitting them is $500 but each flight in America with a bike is $100 extra. Doesn't take long to payback.

Picked up a White Industries 22t freewheel from PUSH yesterday... sweet as! LHBPA discount applied too. Can't beat a deal like that.
I know they got at least two others in the shop.

^ Tempting... Very very tempting...
Ha! In my own defence, I stop a lot of shots mid-court!
