You made that cosmic piece of metal yourself ?

That plate was from an old clamp on track brake caliper.
Just a little piece of flat metal with a hole drilled in the middle will do.
Make sure the edges aren't sharp though. -

I found that v brake plate had quite a bit of flex in it, so i fitted a regular brake booster plate which reduced the flex a lot. Using jubilee clips to fasten it instead of zip ties makes it difference as well.
Its all a bit of a mess though, I would ask around to see how much you can get some mounts brazed on for since its a frame you will keep for a while.

Don't know if this is right section or if this had been done before. Just built a polo bike today after trying it on the broadway market court with some of you guys a few onths back. Mainly cobbled together from bits I had lying around or out of boxes at charity shops. Managed to get spinnable front wheel with brakes:
Needs different bars as these are for another project.
Forks are 26" MTB and I've adapted the brakes with a bracket so they work with 700C. The brake cable threads though the bmx stem bolt and can spin without tangling as the whole system moves.
The brakes I used are a bit shoddy and the spring back isnt great. Hopefully get to use it sometime this week. I am malletless but have poles to trade for heads (see classifieds).

that brake is doomed!

seems to work ok in a forwards motion. needs another retaining bolt either side to stop it moving so much.

ricky feather's quoted me £50 for rear only or £70 for front+rear, plus the cost of bosses (less than £10 i think). bob jackson is £15.50 per boss, but i would go to ricky.

I would also ask Sargantandco for a quote - he's in London.
He built the frame that Hassan and Mike are testing atmo. -

Beards have six on order.
This is true.
You'll need a brake plate and a piece of drilled metal sheet to act as a backing plate.
Use the hose clips rather than cable ties as the hose clips will hold the plate strong enough so not to flex when brake is pulled.
Do like Mat would say....
