I've been less than impressed with DMR since their hay-day 10 years or so ago... the pedals are good, but nothing too special (and certainly not worth the praise of their earlier counterparts development/price).

Thats what i run, but have taken all of the studs out as they were like trying to get your foot out of a vice with em in. Great straps
i also did this, i ground all the pegs off my dmrs cos they were stuck, (i got new shoes that didnt have tall brake fatigure, and it was hard to get in snud)
i regret taking them all out, i wish i'd left the front three. Because when its wet they're a bit slippery. #thinkingaboutclipless

Yeah ideally you want to have a couple left in as you suggest. I had the v12's lying around, so seemed rude not to use em, but would probably go for something a lot cheaper if i was looking. they are stupid lite for a DH pedal though

thought I would post this here, do most of you guys ride flip-flop or do you just spin like a mutha on the way to games?
-
• #2532
People do both. I spin, but others change their gear.

a-bike (animal Bmx) hamilton pedals are the best.

cheaper and lighter?
also, if you're not running pegs, plastic pedals slide better (pedal grinds)?
+1
although, there is nothing better than the noise of grinding metal!

is it true that you can easily use fixed/fixed hub as fixed/free ?
I mean is it ok to just stick a freewheel sprocket on a fixed side ? -
• #2537
Yep - no issue. Use grease.
-
• #2538
ah, this is a gold piece of information

out of interest, why do plastic bmx pedals exist? Is it just for a budget option or is there some kind of advantage in using them for certain bmx disciplines?
I suppose they wouldnt tear up an indoor skatepark when you bail, in the same way you can't use certain pedals on an indoor velodrome...?
As Hassan said really.
people are doing a lot more pedal grinds like Luc-E's etc these days n wrecking metal pedals on a weekly basis becomes pretty expensive.
the strength of them is still pretty decent, and the weight is a lot less than metal pedals.
Ody have just bought out these though which are awesome in my eyes

grippyness of metal pedals. slidability of plastics along with weight and no bearings to fuck up, which is the downfall of most plastics -

actually it is a steel cyclocross frame. but until it lives in canadia it will be my polo machine and get-arounder
I love DMR but just too expensive.
Went with Gussets and drilled and filed the gaps this morning. Will stick them on my bike for B's T tomorrow . Hopefull it will all go smoothly.
