I like to think of myself as a silent assassin
haha, not so silent when you fall off then get back up and ride into the middle of the road laughing ;)
You probably won't even remember that, or this : Lovely Jill

makes a clicking noise though.
shimano freewheels are the quietest i haven't heard of. but they only go up to 18t.
You can get a 20t shimano bmx freewheel

the larger dicta freewheels are often non-removeable, unless you take the plate off and take it apart
This is exactly the situation I'm facing for a snapped spoke. How big a deal is it (time & effort) to take the freewheel apart & off and re-assemble it?
Also what is the largest toothed removable freewheel available?

G-Sport.
Does anyone remember if George French was "Mr Pants". I have boozey memories of King of Concrete down Southsea. Mr Pants would be there just in just Y fronts and waffles getting up to all sorts of mischief. Just before this blokes street run, he pissed all over his bike leaving him with a soggy top tube pad. He did offer to clean it off though cause matey didn't see the funny side...

FFS, who gave me GHB again. And where is my other kidney ?

I bought an old new sealed bearing bmx rear off ebay for £13.50.
Has 10mm axle and is spaced for 110mm.
A couple of small spacer nuts easily do the trick.
You might want to dish it over a bit when building to get the freewheel in the right place.
Had no probs with it in Karlsruhe. -

Had no probs with it in Karlsruhe.did you dish it? I am toying with putting 5 mil spacers either side of my hub and not dishing and having a slightly off chainline, or putting 10 mil of spacers on one side and dishing it. I have ordered spokes for no dishing though.
Hassan?

I have the spacers on one side but have somehow managed to get the rim central when building it.
I only had the same length spokes but still dished it enough.
I think it was just one of those moments of luck! -

is it silent, todd ? how many teeth ?

just seen a crackin deal on one of these:
thinking about upgrading..

i'd build it symmetrical, a few mil off on chainline won't be a huge deal.
But if you want it dished you should be able to get away with it with the spokes you already have, you'll just have to tension the drive side a couple of turns more than the non-drive.

Have people been getting the Milwaukee Polo Guard directly from them (dt? Slamm?), or is there a supplier in the UK which works out cheaper once customs is factored in?
Or, if I import to Amsterdam, will I get stung for customs as I would if I was in London?

In this case though, wouldn't it be the other way around? Tension non-drive side more?
I think I'm re-convinced not to go BMX hub route...

for the chainline? dunno, the above statement was for regular dishing, would have to look at it. but a slacker drive side doesn't seem like the best of ideas.

Got it directly from them. If i remember i didn't get stung by customs on that one but think that was only down to luck

White Industries 22t. Noisy, but gotta love the buzzing of it!

I'm sure I remember reading that noisy freewheels are better than silent ones? Something about the way the freewheel engages/disengages?

when my bank account recovers from this I will buy a few on one 24 hole hubs and try and drill them out to 48 hole with my pillar drill mount. I'll let you know how that goes...
Or does anyone have an old hub to donate to the cause?

I wish mine made a noise, everything else on my bike does.

that little dent on the right hand side is ok right?
It's just I like my flange to be nice and clean when I'm putting this much stress through it.
just got mine in the post and it has almost the exact same dent.

No, he wasn't. -

Tom, i ordered the guard twice now ( as the first time it got returned by the french post to sender) and each time i had to pay customs, and it's a lot, like 40 Euro, think twice. Even though i asked them if they could say it's a gift the second time they did not, but good luck trying.
mine has a 4 prong, if a freewheel tool doesn't get it off, i think a hammer+flathead screwdriver probably will
(it mounts opposite to the way it's pictured)
