Snoops, what bmx hubs did you get? Is the rear hub 110 spaced? How narrow is it flange to flange?
I've been thinking about bmx hubs for a long time but Hassan kinda talked me out of it for those two reasons. -

its only 1mm narrower, than the onone hubs i use currently, either side.
g sport homer hubs are reduced from somehting like 80 to £15 on winstanleys at the moment
i bought a pair. -

that looks like a pretty solid set up, can't wait for my stuff to arrive
-
• #1906
maybe too solid. hubs are 500g! this will be the heaviest wheel set up i have ever ridden.

• #1907
beard = 500g

i bought a pair.ha! don't lie, you were scared for a bit...
just 1mm? fair enough, i based the centre to flange on the freecoaster and cassette hubs i have, both of which are significantly narrower.
good shout on the front too, ordered one today.
-
• #1910
yeh you ordered the last one you bastard! mine came with a tiny dent in the flange so asked to change it they said they were out of stock!!
-
• #1911
I've got a hammer specifically for removing flange dents.
Chain reaction have them on sale too, not sure of stock though.
-
• #1912
that little dent on the right hand side is ok right?
It's just I like my flange to be nice and clean when I'm putting this much stress through it.
-
• #1913
i wouldn't worry about it

http://www.winstanleysbikes.co.uk/product/5780/Kooka_Trails_22T_Crankset_Bashguard
dirt cheap cranks 22t with bashguard
-
• #1916
Winstanleys has all the bargains today!
-
• #1917
Those cranks are 175 in length and I imagine they are threaded for a freewheel up front (no mounting bolts for chainring).

ahh, its funny to see everyone wanting old 48h bmx hubs. I had one of these for the rear years ago...tough as hell, but super heavy. George French was so ahead of his time with his hub designs.
Snoops, be good to see these rolling.

hey so where can i get a 21, 22, or 23 teeth freewheel thatr doesn't make this clicking noise when frewheeling ?
I like to think of myself as a silent assassin -
• #1920
could go for a three speed?
-
• #1921
makes a clicking noise though.
shimano freewheels are the quietest i haven't heard of. but they only go up to 18t.
-
• #1922
i got a taiwanese 20t at my LBS for £6, it's called dicta brand. it's silent for now but i think it may start making noise as the grease wears down.
-
• #1924
the larger dicta freewheels are often non-removeable, unless you take the plate off and take it apart

I ordered myself a 19t freewheel at the weekend. Should arrive soon. Then I can casually coast down the hill to polo.
I might have to get a smoking jacket to go with the new casual style.
man why wheel build stuff is here, looks so tough.
heavy as fuck though.
