That it is a seriously shit squad. Now would be the perfect time to cut the dead wood from the squad and go there with a young and hungry squad that might actually learn something from the experience.
Cole, Johnson, Carrick, Gerrard, Lampard, Milner, Defoe, Lambert shouldn't be in the squad. Not sure what Lambert or Rooney on current form would contribute.
I agree with most of the names but was confused by Henderson who has been outstanding for Liverpool this season and Gerrards last few games for England he has been the best player,

Please don't take me seriously. I wouldn't go near a United fan for a start.
Hard to tell on the internetz. For all I know you're the next Nile Ranger, Ched Evans, Marlon King or Raheem Sterling.

What's wrong with Gerrard and Henderson? They've been the rock in Liverpool's midfield this year...

Echo-o-o-o-o
I honestly think that Henderson is overrate but than again there's a lack of talent in that position in general, so he stays in. I also said take one or 2 youngsters out and substitute with 2 experienced ones. But they should be looking at the future really and it's not like any of those players that I took out have actually achieved anything in an England shirt.

another colossal europa night for spurs.
wondering what team little 'Arry puts out tonight, and whether Soldado gets to start or not?Got Cardiff on the weekend, and they don't seem to be doing the best right now, so maybe Sherwood plays first team tonight and tries to scrape a result against Cardiff on sunday, or not...

Goalkeepers: Fraser Forster (Celtic), Ben Foster (West Bromwich Albion), Joe Hart (Manchester City), John Ruddy (Norwich City).
Defenders: Leighton Baines (Everton), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Steven Caulker (Cardiff City), Luke Shaw (Southampton), Kyle Walker (Tottenham Hotspur), Carl Jenkinson, Jack Robinson, Ezekiel Fryers.
Midfielders: Ross Barkley (Everton), Michael Carrick (Manchester United), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Adam Lallana (Southampton), James Milner (Manchester City), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal), Raheem Sterling (Liverpool), Andros Townsend (Tottenham Hotspur), Jack Wilshere (Arsenal), Will Hughes, Ravel Morrison, Nathaniel Chalobah.
Forwards: Rickie Lambert (Southampton), Jay Rodriguez (Southampton), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United), Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool), Wilfried Zaha, Patrick Bamford.
Take out one or two of the youngsters and replace them with the older ones that I've taken out but I can't see why this bunch of players would do any worse than the squad Hodgson has announced.
anyway, England thread >>>>>>>>>>>
With the exception of a few of the older players, this squad actually looks half decent on paper. Although, no manager would be brave enough to try it out now. The defence is ropey and the midfield a bit lightweight, but they would be entertaining to watch. Unlike the current England team.

Thing is they should have started this process many moons ago but the FA are a bunch of spineless twats that have no vision or balls. Southgate and Pearce included.

Cross post from the Film thread, but there's an excellent Storyville documentary on tonight about a Serbian coach's attempt to take the newly-formed South Sudan team to international stardom.

Will Hughes wouldn't even make a championship 11. So overrated.

This is England we're talking about. Being overrated is exactly what qualifies you to get into the team these days.

Dnipro are all counter attack all the time.
Dembele's done nothing much, Sandro has been all over the place, Eriksen looks like the man most likely to do something for us. But him drifting inside means we've got no width on the left and fryers isn't willing to charge into the space. So sick of dawsons diagonal ball! Not looking good for us, haven't really had a shot on goal worthy of the name.. Closest chance was an Eriksen free kick.
Also bentaleb instead of capoue on the bench?!? -

Looking pretty toothless so far. Soldado is non-existent again and Ade has gone quiet. Naughton not quick enough getting back, Eriksen's working hard but not really delivering. Meh, will probably end 0-0.

Why are spurs only attacking through a tiny sliver on the right where dnipro have about 7 players all the time? Clearly we need to mix it up a bit and whatever it is (tactics, fryers inexperience) that's stopping us using the left is hurting. Also dembele, ericson, soldado can all play straight through the middle, how bout that???
-
• #98220
Dawson hasn't got a creative bone in his body, and is too slow. Time to be moved on I'm afraid.
-
• #98221
Even if this is true, why would he want to come and why the FUCK would we want him? He's nothing but trouble and perhaps 2-3 exquisite goals per season.

I was thinking that. Sherwood has probably asked Naughton and Townsend to bring the ball up the wing. They're just not used to playing together.

Disagree, he's a sterling centre back, just shouldn't be bringing the ball forward like he is today. That's Tim Sherwood telling him that though.

Haha! Were you upset that Jaw didn't put any Leicester players in the squad? :)
Although, his form this season hasn't been great, I'm sure he will become a solid England squad player maybe in time for the next Euro championships. It probably depends on who he's playing for at the time. I can't see him staying with us unless we get promoted this season.

@ Roboto - No, but every time we've beaten you this season, he's been completely anonymous. He's fragile and easily bullied out of the game. I'd have Drinkwater and James ahead of him without blinking. Fuck it, I'd have Andy fat boy Reid, if he could stay fit.
