  • Politely disagree with you. The only creativity he will bring is in terms of hair flair and different ways to break opponents eye sockets without the ref seeing.

Doesn't sound like you've actually seen him play much.

Only doubt I would have is whether he will link up properly now he's in a decent squad or if he will turn out to be a big fish in a small pond type of player like Matt Le Tiss or Berbatov.

  • It's his reading of the game that is suspect, technical ability is fine. His constant failure to pick up any of Giroud's flick-ons or knock-downs on Sunday was the perfect demonstration of this.He is still learning, and will be for a long time yet.

He'll never learn and will only ever be a winger because of this. He can't see other peoples runs and get a decisive through ball so is no good in centre mid, he can't see the runs for others to put him through so is no good as a forward. Theo lad, just run quickly down the wing and whip a ball across the box, one of your mates will try and get on the end of it. Don't think too hard it only gives you a nosebleed.

  • Isn't it about time that Wallcott was brought from the youth into the senior set up? How long does he remain a youth prospect rather than a finished article?

I know you're baiting here but I'll bite.

Who has better stats him or 100m Bale?

    :)

Absolutely, tho I remember watching him when he did have a decent game in the centre, but he never repeated it. He just can't see the angles and won't start his runs until he knows where the ball is going. With his pace he's fine out-sprinting a full back from the halfway line but less useful on the edge of the box.

Still, he's a likeable lad and will get and create goals.

  • Stats don't lie guys.

Oh and about our newest player:

Most assists for club and country since 1 August 2010:
    1- Ozil (91).
    2- Messi (82).
    3- Mata (72).
    4- Ribery (60).
    5- Cesc Fabregas (56).

  • to get an assist you need someone else to score the goal, I think that is where you started with your gloomy summary of the transfer dealings

  • Sessegnon to WBA is a quality buy. Would have thought there'd be more talk about this.

  • True, he should be good enough to get them back out of the championship next season. If they manage to hold on to him.

  • Politely disagree with you.

I have absolutely no expectations of this season, other than it being the most competitive and entertaining for years.

that is cool d-goods, note i say happy enough, i am certainly in no way excited by the acquisition. on his good days though i expect him to be able to boss the centre of the park a little bit and draw attention away from rooney and cleverly and allow for them to create.

i am done with valencia, nani and young. wished we could have got rid of all three and brought ozil in. or sessegnon for that matter.

'most competitive and entertaining for years' - now i am excited about that prospect

  • In other news, we're apparently re-signing Carlton Cole...

  • Ozil to Arsenal and Sessignon to WBA are the two top signings of this window.

    Happy enough about Fellaini.

Sessegnon for £6m is a steal, crackin player

  • Doesn't sound like you've actually seen him play much.

Have seen him play a fair bit - unfortunately rather well, on a couple of occasions where his goals and contributions led to two defeats, on one of those occasions costing united the title.

Which is all well and good based on how he was played for everton. I think there are serious questions around how he will fit in (the only way he will boss the park is with a physical presence, not through his vision or ability to go past a player), his creativity and what was paid at what time.

Pisti may well have contribution but now MF has fucked off it'll probably just feature >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>'s and expletives

Thankfully we play CP at OT next. If we can't get 3 points then I'll abide by teh rulez and follow plymouth argyle for the season. Plus the tigers as my PL 2nd team.

    .

    You are either:

    Trolling
Know fuck all about football(plastic Manc so probably this)
Never watched Everton more than 3 games
    All of the above

On his day he is world class, been a quality signing for us. He scored 12 goals last season and he absolutely pissed over most other Premiership midfielders....even more so when he sat with Arteta. He will be your best midfielder for the rest of the season - FACT! When we beat you @ Goodison last season, he took the piss out of Cleverley, controlled most the game, got the winning goal and got MOM

Superb first touch, can tackle, can pass, rarely gives the ball away, good in the air and I have never seen a player control the ball with his chest and bring down better than Fellaini. Will weigh I with 'nuff goals too

    Ok - a bit this.

Probably a lot this, but do not pretend otherwise.

On his day he has been a quality signing for us.

    Its all relative.

He scored 12 goals last season

5 with his head as most defenders are probably shit scared of him clattering them.

he took the piss out of Cleverley, controlled most the game, got the winning goal and got MOM

    Helm...I said that innit

Dribbling not on list then. Sounds like you might be a bit gutted.

  • Mate, in a nutshell he's shit'ot...anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't know fuck all about football

  • .....'dribbling' is surely one of the basic necessities for any footballer so no need to shit your keks

  • Isn't dribbling something you look for in a Doris before you yentz her?

  • So you would be happy for Nicklas Bendtner, a player who publicly admitted to never wanting to play for Arsenal, lead our attacking line this season?

I think the signing of Ozil has disguised this fact somewhat.

If Arsenal had signed a player of his ilk last summer Van Persie may well have stayed, and instead of scrapping for 4th place they'd be in with a shot of a title.

    Too little too late?

  • Carlton Cole having a medical before re-signing for WHU.

  • B&D might have something to say about that.

Oh, he did, he already mentioned it. Barely an hour ago.

Money wasn't there last season, this "pre-season" has been the first we've had significant funds to spend. And we've lost a few million per year in ages in terms of squillaci, denilson, arshavin et al.

It's a shame to me that VP couldn't hold on for another 12 months but that's what you get for being financially prudent.

  • Its been rumoured for the last 3 days or so.

Fair play to CFC, he didn't accept the contract offered in July and now Gulivan and SA dessperately need cover I'm sure he'll st a better offer.

Not sure how to feel, I love him because he was in incredibly loyal player to the club over 7 seasons but 2 goals in 20 last season really tried my patience.

Oh, well it continues the roller coaster ride as a WHU fan. Nothing is ever easy and straight forward.

  • Especially that trip up from Bristol for all your home games, eh Tim?

The new sponsorship deal with Emirates etc was signed three months after RvP left. Arsenal must have knew how much these new deals would be worth and must have been in negotiations at this point, so could have easily leveraged new signings against this. More like a lack of foresight rather than prudence, but in fairness I can't recall any players of Ozil's quality (apart from RvP) being available last summer.

  • Money wasn't there last season, this "pre-season" has been the first we've had significant funds to spend.

Im sorry but I hope you realise this is utter tripe? We have always had the finances to do this. It is the board that decides to wait to spend money before Champions League first round is confirmed, this basically covers the costs of transfers in. This is why we waited till after the second Fener game. It's a risk averse strategy.

If you add the wage savings to the revenue of the champions league games, along with attributed revenues to do with the Ozil signing - then it doesn't cost the club very much at all, if anything.

The selling of RVP to Manchester United, was one of the single worst pieces of transfer business, ever.
