The selling of RVP to Manchester United, was one of the single worst pieces of transfer business, ever.
There are a couple of ways of looking at that.

Not for me there aren't

.....'dribbling' is surely one of the basic necessities for any footballer so no need to shit your keks
In fairness, consider my keks unshat. The 'on his day' bit is a worry - at £27.5m you shouldn't have too many bad days. Can't think of any other players that needed a personal one-on-one counselling session with a ref re. discipline so see how that bit goes! Will you go to Goodison for the return?

Sessegnon for £6m is a steal, crackin player
I'm definitely happy about this but i'm more gutted that you guys stole Lukaku from under our noses....
He's a hell of a player who really managed to change games for us. Fingers crossed he's forgotten how to kick a ball in time for you to come to us in January.

The pot was there to buy and while the wage bill was a worry 'till the expensive benchwarmers were disposed of, there would never have been real trouble getting quality in if it were available.
Wenger and the board failed to convince RvP that the club had the ambition to finaly start winning stuff and a 30 year old striker can't be expected to hang around waiting for yet another re-build of the team using French kids (even if the club stood by him when he looked like a he might be a permanent crock). Can't really say I blame him and given he was wearing a prem winners medal 1 season later it would be hard to argue that he was wrong to move.
Ozil is a wonderful signing, and he is not the complete answer, but he is an indication of the club starting to wake up. Sometime around the end of the year expect to see a buck-toothed Uruguayan racist handing in transfer requests, sulking in the dressing room and pissing in Brenda's coffee in the hope of getting serviced by Mesut.

In other news, we're apparently re-signing Carlton Cole...
Great stuff. Glad that he is going to be back in the Premier league.

Am I reading too much into this?

Sessegnon is a class player. Good piece of business but very unlike albion to get imbroiled in panic buying on the last day. We will see if this works for us or whether there are problems with Clarke. Think the new midfielder will benefit us more and could be the key.

Great transfer window for Atletico Madrid and Fiorentina.

What I have loved reading today is the reaction from Madrid players/staff and supporters to Ozil leaving. there seems to be genuine sadness and disappointment on a footballing but also a personal level.

So it appears Im one of the grumpier Arsenal fans.
I've had a few discussions with other Gooners and non-arsenal types alike this morning.
I still feel like the club failed totally in this transfer window and showed complete ineptitude in their strategy.
Yes we have signed Ozil, who is a sublime player and makes us much stronger. And yes we have Flamini and Viviano, who offer competition.
But it is obvious we need and wanted a striker - why were we pissing around with Demba Ba on the last day? It's plain and simply fucking moronic. Mario Gomez went for 13m, why not have gone for him? or Aubameyang? I still think there are a lot of questions that need to be answered and the signing of one player should not be allowed to paper over the cracks of utter incompetence all summer.
I am also of the opinion we need defensive cover and another body in midfield. We need a squad able to compete 3 times a week and we simply don't have the numbers. I so wanted to be positive but I cant be totally happy.
You beat me to it. Isn't this a case of pulling the wool over fan's eyes? It looks to me that you needed what united got and they needed what you got. Surely you have enough creative waifs for that through ball? I guess you do have Walcott that could play up front in addition of LucasP.

Time for some of the youngsters from the much vaunted youth set up to step up?
Bentdner is history, but his wages mean the club are lumbered with him so they should make him an offer based on the rest of his contract and move him on.
Hasn't he voiced his complaint that the club didn't allow him to leave for Palace yesterday?

You are either:
.......
Superb first touch, can tackle, can pass, rarely gives the ball away, good in the air and I have never seen a player control the ball with his chest and bring down better than Fellaini. Will weigh I with 'nuff goals too*Most chest controls last season

Best result of the entire window. It says a lot when we struggled to give him away, Blackpool must've been in full on desperate panic mode.
"Tyson has struggled with injuries during his two-year spell at Pride Park, starting just 18 games"
