  • is Eva looking like she had a bit too much stuffing at Xmas ? or maybe just to much turkey and roast tatties ?

  • QPR piece written and sent off. Expecting heavy censorship.

  • Gibson out for a month

    :-(

  • Things looking up for us.
Good performance against a struggling Sunderland, and a run of eminently winnable games coming up to keep the confidence up, and push on to make a decent fist of taking third spot or holding onto fourth..

    Reading (h)
    QPR (a)

then Man U (h), when we'll see if we actually are for real in terms of keeping onto the end of the season, and holding our own against the big boys.

    Norwich (a)

Interesting month of football for the mighty spurs..

  • 10m bid for Adrian.

    Get in!

  • Adrian who, Edmundson? Mole? Chiles?

  • Corny, how many forums did you have to go through to put that together??

  • what? dates of who we're playing in the next month?

If I had to go to a forum to find that information, I'd hand back in my JFGI badge.

  • No, your little weekly performance report

  • JFGI

    Just fucking Guardian.com it?

  • QPR at home

Dreading it, especially in light of Rangers looking so lifeless and dare I say it defeated from the off at home against Liverpool. 15 years we (Rangers fans) waited to get back into the top flight and the worse thing about is that it has been a humiliating shambles.

  • ^^^Can we see the paragraphs that were edited out?

  • See the wheels are coming off over @ West Brom

  • That's piss poor trolling to start the year with, WBA are still overachieving and are pretty much where you would have ranked them before the season kicked off.

  • When Arsenal moved to the Emirates, Islington council was so far up their rectums that they did not do what any other local autority would have done and insisted that Arsenal pay for the provision of peoper tube stations to allow supporters into and out of the ground without driving. Instead they just bent over and greased what needed greasing. They also used the Emirates as an excuse to extend the match day no parking area and got money in from fining locals for parking near their homes. The one concession that Islington did squeeze out of Arsenal was a provision that a certain number of season ticket shad to be sold to locals. Sadly only the local lawyers and bankers who, hitherto had followed rugger, could afford them. So they now have a stadium filled with recent moneyed twerps with no sense of tradition bleating on about their history and everyone else running for the tube just after half time.

Clive, you don't know what you're talking about. Arsenal had to spend hundreds of millions relocating all kinds of stuff that was on the site, including the muncipal dump, which was rebuilt across Holloway Road.

In amongst all the new property that was built were many key-worker flats, and so-called 'affordable' units on part-ownership terms. If you are seriously suggesting that £750 million was spent on bribing Islington officials, and GLA officials (Ken had the last say on the development, if you remember) then you are even more out of your mind than usual.

The local kids were priced out of Arsenal a decade before the move, well before the Emirates was built. I stupidly didn't get onto the season ticket waiting list until 1997, by which time I was 25 000 + in line, i.e. needed to have the West Stand collapse during a match, to stand a chance of getting a place in the queue in the low thousands.*

Given a choice between watching football in the 80s, considering the conditions (which were disgusting at home games, never mind how we all got treated at away matches), and the standard of football, which was abysmal, compared to now, it's obviously way better now.

The problem of an ageing population of season ticket holders - most of whom at Arsenal are NOT johnnie come lately twerps - and lack of affordable tickets for kids is something that needs to be considered, IMO, but that's not Islington's fault, it's the economics of it.

If you leave early at the Emirates, you save about 10 or 15 minutes. Personally, I do not, will never, understand why a person would leave any game early, but, hey, it's their money, their choice, but if getting home 15 minutes earlier is more important than seeing the end of the game, what can I say?

Apart from 'you stupid no-mark idiotic plastic melt knob'.

  • Happy New Year to all you plastic melt knobs>>>>>>>>>>>

  • As a matter of interest, can a Man City fan tell me what the away fans were charged for their seats at Emirates on the 13th? I was charged an absolutely eye-watering sum by Ar$enal for a seat that was part of the returned away allocation.

  • The McLeish Effect

Currently 3-0 down to managerless Blackburn
