  • Not to mention the failure to give us penalties. 2009.

  • Sadly not, unless I can get a season ticket return. Last time I checked, there was one club level ticket left at £200+.

I would have invited you to join me but somehow I am not sure you would enjoy being surrounded by a crowd of yobs who make me seem like reason personified.

  • At least you don't have to put up with all the tapping up, and the crap about Barcelona DNA etc etc. Classless.

  • There is a twerp who sits a few rows back from me who fancies himself as a back seat manager.

He keeps shouting instructions to the players. Sadly he only knows one style of play and "push up" screamed constantly was not really an appropriate call last night but simply showed glaring ignorance and an inability to be able to read the clearest of strategies. Luckily he was soon drowned out by the rest of the noise.

  • noise ha
barca fans seemed loud last night
wasn't quite an anfield night was it now clive ... we knew how to do a european semi final at our place

My all-time favourite pointless shout is "DO SOMETHING!"

  • Blame the ref not the Wigan players who did what they had to do to win.

Absolutely agree. Credit to Wigan, which is why they were applauded off by Arsenal fans (including myself), after the game had finished.

  • "vastly inferior"

I wouldn't class Wigan as vastly inferior to Arsenal nor Chelsea as vastly inferior to Barcelona.

On what criteria do you judge? Artistic?

Football has but one test and that is the number of goals scored. One team may have more talented individual players than another, but unless they can combine to score more goals, they cannot be described as superior whether vastly or otherwise. Football is a team game not a talent contest.

Even funnier when you hear this banter going on at a Norwich game. In a Norfolk accent it makes it all funnier.

  • Chelsea played well last night - fair to say I was nervous the whole game.

A few times Chelsea got the ball they looked like they didn't know what to do with it, did anyone else get that feeling?

Still a win is a win I just hope Clives comments regarding red cards don't ring true next week.

I've been to "Europen Nights" at Anfield, possibly more of them that Mike has seen games there in any competition.

Nothing special. Just fewer scouse accents.

  • Barca supporters were given the usual away allocation last night and accommodated next to the pitch. At the final whistle they were let out of the ground.

Next week Cheslea supporters will be placed in tier 4. High above the pitch. It is like watching Subbuteo. After the match the Guarda Civile will hold them in the stadium for at least an hour.

Last night, Barcelona supporters mingled with Chelsea supporters on the tubes and in bars. No trouble.

Next week, Barcelona supporters will, as they always do, attack bars in which Chelsea supporters are drinking after the game.

  • Sound like a bunch of animals with no style

  • well chelsea's history does consist of lots of thuggery and few trophies clive

  • Don't forget the style

  • thats just a figment of clives imagination
their parking the bus attitude last night wasn't stylish

  • admittedly we have done that once this season against city in the semi final with our 5-5-0 formation i wasn't proud that night

  • well chelsea's history does consist of lots of thuggery and few trophies clive

Back to the Emlyn Hughes nonsense?

  • Xavi - 145 passes
    Busquets - 106 passes

Most passes from a Chelsea player

    Mikel - 32 passes.

  • any stats on far Rameriez ran?

  • as a despondent gooner i can only marvel with envy at chelsea's performance last night.. the fans deserved their victory at the bridge. if only we had players that showed that level of commitment and strength in defense.. i also agree with clive about how some english clubs are inexcusably and unfairly treated in vital fixtures by match officials

  • Wigan may have fewer points than Arsenal, but will have won the same number of trophies this season, though Wigan probably have a less lucrative kit deal.

Great football games are made out of contrasting teams, Chelsea are not there to play Ernie Wise to Barcelona's Eric Morecambe, and get pasted for the pleasure of the drooling masses watching on TV. You and most pundits might have their money on Barcelona, but as we've all seen most pundits are know-nowt fuckwits.

  • I'd like to say well done to Chelsea, but Clive's sore winner rants have made me change my mind.

  • I hope the other semi wins it in the end. I hate Chelsea and Barca.

  • How are Bayern and Real any fucking better?
